Topic: Is this heartburn??? Posted: 20 July 2007 at 12:57am |
I've just woken up with a hot burning lump in my throat. I feel like I want to cough or throw up. Is this heartburn???
I did a search here and it sounds like it but is anyone awake who can tell me a quick fire solution RIGHT NOW!!????

Yup, sounds like heartburn to me! I got it really bad towards the end of my pregnancy. Makes you want to throw up and burns. Try a glass of milk or some yoghurt, that should help it a wee bit.
It should go away, at least I hope it goes away, as it's really not nice.
Good thing is that as soon as you give birth, instant relief from all those annoying pregnancy symptoms.

thanks renee. I knew someone would be up. I also found some old mylanta tabs in our first aid kit so I am munching on those...but I think a yoghurt might be good as I am also hungry

Why werent you posting THAT at 1am???? I could have easily justified it then.
Yoghurt and mylanta worked. Tried propping up with pillows but that wasnt too succesful as the "bump" doesnt like bending at the moment!

sounds different to the heartburn i had with caitlyn, mine wasnt in the throat more in the chest and was uncomfortable , but didnt make me throw up (the ms all the way thru did tho )
I hated mylanta , if i wanted to eat chalk i would, i got some tablet type things called tetrilac from the chemist, theyre like smints and instant relief, actually i ended up getting quite addicted to them....
Also for a quick relief, milk is good and stay away from coke etc and spicy foods, thatl cause it.
And btw i had heartburn from 6 months and my daughter came out bald as an egg.....

I say that is a real myth - well in my situation anyway, as I had none whatsoever and my boy was born with a whole head of dark hair and real thick at that.
