Just wondering what your favorite take along foods are for long road trips?

We are doing a big one next month - Dunedin to Auckland and I am trying to plan out the food but feeling a bit uninspired.....

Wow, now thats a road trip & a half
I usually cut up pieces of fruit & have it in containers for DD (& me) to snack on....peices of watermelon, apple, nectarine. Grapes, mandarines.
Little packets of biscuits (like Tiny Teddies) she thinks they are great because its very rarely she gets them.
Mini muffins, those satchet thingys of custard (Only Organics I think they are)
Anything that takes time to eat & keeps them quiet is really good
Oh & lollies for yourself

Wow - you are brave

I usually do baking like slices and muesli bars which travel well. Fruit - except it may have to stay whole as cut fruit won't stay nice that long. Little packets of popcorn, biscuits etc.

I usually make a whole bunch of vegemite sandwiches cut up into squares. I also have raisins, juice boxes, rice crackers etc lots of choices, and we have a little picnic somewhere along the way which is fun. With such a massive road trip you'll need lots of playground and picnic stops hehe just the usual food that travels well in a cooler bag is good with an ice pack
