What am I entitled too?

I will be studying full time and dh will be working full time earning a low income.

Bubs will be in daycar while I study 30hrs a week.

Anyone have any idea what we can get from the working for families tax credits?

I understand I can get 72 per week for a student allowance, and 40 per week for accomodation supplement..all from study link.

Ird,winz and study link are so confusing for me!

I need to finish my degree but not if we can't afford to pay for anything.

I get confused too - probably not helped by them being separate agencies!

I can't help on the working for families but wondered whether you'd be best to ring them anyway because they may (or may not!) count your student allowance as income. Alternatively, try their on line calculator and do it twice - once including your student allowance and once without.

Good luck though - you will be one busy lady!

Hi there

I am studying also and have bubs in day care around 27 hours a week. I do not qualify for allowance or working for families as my partner earns too much but we did however get a Childcare subsidy.

When you apply for your student allowance, accommodation benefit and student loan etc on the study link website you can also apply for the childcare subsidy. You need to get you childcare place to fill in part of the form also

I am planning to start studying next yr and have also been trying to figure out what help i can get. because of where we live (kind of between auckland and hamilton with no public transport either way) and obligations I will be moving closer to the campus by myself.
Im not sure what to do for finacial help. I will be able to get student allowence but only $108 i dont want to use living costs loan.
