Hi my husband and I are moving to Kumeu in December and I was wondering if anyone on here lives in the area who might like to meet up or can tell me about play groups etc. i have searched the web but havent really found much. Please reply here or you are welcome to email me on ganda.hyland@xtra.co.nz. We have two little boys 5months and 19months old.

There's a great playcentre in Kumeu, there are playgroups at Whenuapai and Herald Island.
I'm considering joining Kumeu playcentre myself in the new year. I live in Hobsonville.

1st mummy (Amanda) - hopefully we will be joining you!! We are currently looking for a home in Kumeu, Riverhead area but have been unlucky so far. We have a little boy who is nearly 4 months. Would be keen to meet up once you are settled if you are.

I was going to suggest the playcentre too. Otherwise theres playgroups down towards westgate / hobsonville too (I live in West Harbour so not sure about right in Kumeu, although my kids are at daycare in kumeu so I could ask around).
Caliandjack - did you look at the west harbour pc?

I live in the Kumeu area and my DD use to go to the Kumeu playcentre. It has all the facilities etc you need, but I didn't feel like I fit in with the other Mums that well and didn't really enjoy going so it was short lived for us. Once my DD turned 3 we found a fantastic private kindy in Riverhead called Nature's Explorers. She is now 4.2 years old and has attended there for the past year, it is awesome I highly recommend it.
We are moving back to the Hibiscus Coast at the end of the year, and while I can't wait to get back to the beach, I will miss my DD's fantastic Kindy.

Not yet, I've been invited to check it out next term that and the Kumeu one as we've got one more term of SPACE then we'll be starting playcentre in the new year.
The Mums I know that go to SPACE at Kumeu playcentre love it.
My girl is 11 months and I'm always keen to meet up. I go to wriggle and rhyme at the library at Westgate.
I'm also thinking of starting my own coffee group in Whenuapai for AF and non-AF Mums.

I used to attend Kumeu Playcentre with my DD1 for about a year and held one of the positions there, but DD1 now goes to a private kindy. I also went along to West Harbour Playcentre but I felt more welcome at the Kumeu one.
I am keen for a local coffee group caliandjack

I'm pretty sure Porse runs a playgroup in Kumeu most likely at the playcentre on one of the mornings they dont use it. You don't have to be a porse person to go to them, they are totally open. I'll try and find out for you.....

Porse did a playgroup at West Harbour PC too, but I didn't realise anyone could go.
If you want to know the pros/cons of West Harbour I'm happy to let you know Caliandjack?! (We stopped going, but went for almost 2 years).
If its on a weds or early on a monday I'd be keen for a local coffee group too (I work the other days sorry).
