Hey,

Just wondering if anyone is interested in growing a giant pumpkin this summer?

Has anyone done it before? I've grown two little ones the past two years. It is quite exciting. We did have a work competition and we sent pictures of our pumpkins around, it was entertaining. I've given up work now. (bored housewife at home perhaps.. )

I'm not sure where to get seeds from but saw that RD1 has them and a competition to win $1000... Now that would be nice!

I thought last year I would start our family tradition of growing a pumpkin every year and take a cute photo of the kids on it. Only have one baby so far, so still a work in progress

Oooh, fun! I'd love to grow one, my younger brother and sister's primary school has a competition for the kids each year, but I'd never thought of growing one myself. I might have to pop into RD1 and grab some seeds. When are you meant to plant them, do you know? About now?

Cool Hopes! I think you can plant them around now, but keep them in a peat pot inside, after labour day transplant them outside. Try googling it for tips perhaps. That is just off the top of my head.

A guy from my old work place grew one with loads of manure and it was 250kg!! Mine have only been around 40-60kg!

Ps: congrats on your little girl, just saw your ticker. How exciting now you have one of each :-) hope pregnancy is gong well!
