Hi there, this has probably been asked before, and not sure if it should come under 'general chat' but I know a lot of ladies who have had endo and gone on to have bubbas don't hang out in the TTC section.

Just wondering what your experiences have been? ie. what were your symptoms, how was it diagnosed, did it affect your fertility? Oh and how long was the wait for a Lap?

It was only suggested to me by the doctor today that this might be the cause of my symptoms, so I think I've sort of grasped onto it! Just want to find out some info, and get it sorted ASAP if that's what it is!

Mine was picked up due to painful periods - they went from normal cramping to so painful I couldn't sleep through them. I mentioned it to my Dr at FA, who had a bit of a feel and decided that I most likely did have endo (although that wasn't fully confirmed till my lap op, where they both diagnosed it and did a cleanup). I don't know whether it would have affected my fertility or not, as before I was diagnosed with it I didn't ovulate due to PCOS... so perhaps it would have prevented implantation if I had have ovulated, but I'll never know. I was diagnosed one week, and pretty much had the lap operation the next; I had health insurance which covered it, so it was all very fast.

Thanks that's good to hear! I will have to go public so I'm guessing the list will be very long.

My actual periods aren't that painful or heavy or long, all the pain and bad PMS is in the lead up and gone by CD3

*Have had occasional bad pains at random times in the month for the last couple of years

*Have always had bad PMS but has stepped it up a notch in the last 6-8 months

*Have been having cramps for the entire TWW the last 6 months

*On the day the spotting started both last month and today, had about half an hour of severe pain in my abdomen and lower back

*Have had the same kind of pain (but not as bad) following sex a couple of times in the last few months

I had put everything down to fibromyalgia, but am kinda hoping that it is endo seeing as there is something that can be done about it

Really hope it doesn't happen against next month!

Hey Rach, in terms of the waiting list on the public system - I just had mine done on public. It depends where you are, but I got referred at the start of August, and then had my lap last week. I got told the wait was 3 months and obviously it was a lot shorter than that. Good luck

I was diagnosed with endo when I was about 17 (now 27). I had my first lap and scrape out when I was 19 and another a couple of years later at 21/22. At that point I was told if I wanted kids, to try sooner rather than later.

We were really lucky in that we have a 2 year old and got pregnant within a couple of months of trying which was hugely unexpected. The plan had been to try for 6-12 months and then have another laporoscopy if we weren't successful.

Have heard great things about people getting pregnant straight away after having it cleared out.

Do a search on Endo and you will get a heap of posts about symptoms and what people have done.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

Oops I'm one of those people who starts a new thread when there's already heaps on the subject! I had done a search but it didn't come up with a huge amount, turns out I'd had it searching in one part of the forum only. Sorry!

I got diagnosed with suspected endo at 18 and had my lap two weeks after my wedding (2 months shy of 20)...i waited 6 months on public system for my lap...

I had severe painful periods, they had me on strongest pain meds they could give without admitting me to hosp for morphine and they didnt work, i couldnt sleep through them, they made me nauseous and constipated, which i think makes it worse so try and keep regular around AF time...

I had lap jan 2008 and we TTC#1 starting JUly 2009 and fell preg using charting and CONSTANT BDing dec 2009

I also have adenomyosis (sp) which is where its in the uterine muscle aswell so can hurt your chances of conceiving...but here we are...the only thing i was told with all this was to try and have kids as early as you can so that you have a greater chance and that i may have trouble carrying bubba or implanting due to adeno but i am very lucky that i can say iv never miscarried that I know of.

just looking at your two charts hun, i think you could do a lil better on the BD front, i hope this doesnt sound harsh but I think your not doing it close enough to OV and possibly not often enough leading up to ov, if you know roughly when you are going to ov try BDing three days before every day, day of ov and one after, i rekon youll get there in a matter of a month or two

im always around to chat or for advice on here or FB rach
luv nic
xx

Haha thanks yeah I know we definitely could have done better- trouble is DH is a boxer and refuses to BD too close to his next fight cause he thinks it'll hurt his chances of winning That was one month and the other was due to me getting thrush and not wanting to BD coz of the pain and the grossness and thought I had ov'd but then chart went haywire lol
