Topic: AF coming mid cycle ??? Posted: 25 August 2011 at 9:27am |
Has anyone ever had aunt flow visit when she is not supposed to? She just left me just over a week ago and now she is back, she has been regular for the last 18 months so its pretty dam weird.
I have been loosing weight recently, could it have anything to do with that?
Oh and I have a mirena, have had it for 14 months
TIA

I had that with my first child. Had it and then a week or so it turned up again - so wasn't prepared for it as had nothing for it.. anyhoo..I spoke to a few people and my dr and they said that sometimes your cycle can get a bit funny. Have you had your AF since your son? If not then that could be a reason otherwise if it does it for a few months then I would go see your dr.

Yeah I have had it every 4 weeks since 4 weeks after having him, even though I was exclusively breast feeding

I would go to the dr then.. Are you on any contraceptive at all cos that might help to regulate AF maybe.

I am pretty sure diet and exercise can affect af. Perhaps have a chat to your doctor about it either now if you are worried or next time you go.
I'm still waiting for my body to decide what it wants to do!

Chickadeedoo, I am just on a Mirena, They said it would probably stop AF from coming all together so I'm pretty gutted lol, But I guess if breastfeeding didn't stop AF coming then nothing will.
I will see what happens over the next month, if It comes all weird again I'll take a pregnancy test (I know missing AF usually means your pregnant but ya never know lol) and then will go to the doctor.
It was just the same as a normal AF, same flow, days and everything except wrong timing.

Have you checked that it's in the right place? I'm no expert (I probably should be, having a mirena myself) but I think if it's out of place then it won't be working as well which could affect AF?
If it happens again soon I'd start worrying, but sometimes your body just likes to mess with you!
I was on the combined pill a few months back and AF still managed to turn up nearly a week early one month and nearly a week late the next. Riddle me that!

When I was on the pill (before having Isla), I'd get it, then it would come back 2wks later and last for 2 weeks but then wouldn't get it for 2 months. Was all up the whack. Don't ask me why tho. My sisters have it the same. Never regular. I got it back when Isla was 13 months (a month to the day of weaning her) and have had it every month bang on time since..... except this month..... I'm now a week late..... eek.
Like Nicky said, diet and exercise can sometimes affect it
