I like the Parenting Centre in Greenlane - the cafe itself isn't that great the food is limited, I love the open space for DD and the play area all that carpet for her to crawl and explore she loves it.

I have recently discovered the Luscious Food Store in Te Atatu, Auckland. Great coffee (always a must), seriously good food and it seems to be really kid friendly. We also frequent Chevalier Point Cafe in Pt Chev (auck) which is great for their consistently good coffee/food and we've never had any probs having DS there.

Controversial as - the infamous breastfeeding hating Arthur Street Café. I actually really like it, its in an old house so lots of different rooms and we can often take up an entire empty room so the older kids arent attacking other tables. And i breastfeed there all the time and no one has ever said a word to me. Prob not great for older toddlers but as my coffee groups are babies/very very young toddlers its great!

Some cafes have play areas specifically for toddlers and pre-schoolers and provide high chairs they're fantastic.

I have one...the Cafe in Norsewood! The owner was so good for the kids! and us!
Only down fall is that it is small, the toilets are next door & I didn't notice a high chair (first for me)
But nice coffee and a good stopping point on the way to HB.
They make all their food on the premises & he said next time he'd whip up some G/F corn fritters for my boy!

Chipmunks? Lol
I don't class a box of dirty broken toys as kid friendly - not at my DSs age anyway
Gloria Jeans used to have a playpen with token said box but they closed down.
Starbucks used be ok cos I could box him in using tables but now he climbs over them.
Aromas has a play area but stink coffee.
Can't win! Lol

I love Orvieto in Three Kings. They always have fantastic coffee and the service is really fast. Even on the weekend when they are run off their feet the meals always come with out having to wait very long.
