Urgent Measles help!

Okay, Lily had MMR 2 weeks ago and the nurse warned me that she might develop a rash 2 weeks after that was rare but can happen.. If I had a camera, i'd take a picture. She is covered from head to toe in a rash. Looks like proper measles. She's alert, merry (except for when I want her to eat or sleep) and isnt floppy or anything. What should I do? I cant go to the A&E because with the snow warning in CHCH, I take the risk of being stuck in the city. Plus I cant afford the fee. I can mission in the snow to the local doctor if they're open tomorrow tho.
Advice on how to keep her comfy? Can I bath her with anything specific that will help?

Ring healthline and see what they say. They will be able to give you specific advice and tell you if you need to go to A&E now or can wait until tomorrow for the GP to open.

Healthline said take her to the A&E which we just cant do.. actually they weren't very helpful at all! She's not got a temp anymore which is good, she's quite cool for a change.

If they've advised you of taking her to A&E and you can't risk being stuck or can't afford it, then ring A&E or the local hospital see what they say, I wouldn't risk it personally.

I couldn't pay at A&E cause I'd been inadvertently sent down & didn't have enough money & they let me come back a couple of days later & pay.

OMG its pretty bad you have to pay at A&E. Being a public system, I wouldn't have thought that.
Thank goodness we don't have to do it in our town. DD is always in at A&E.

Oh I should have said! Yea, after hours clinic type A&E.. not the hospital emergency room.

if its real measles she will need to be seen as its notifiable but my doc said they are ALWAYS grumpy and very unwell....not sure if he is right ? When Liam had his head to toe rash it looked exactly like measles but it was viral....

You don't think it could be hand foot & mouth? Thats going around up here, and although previously I have only every seen the spots on hands and feet, and inside the mouth on adults, one of my friends kids has a full body rash with it - and she warned me that it looked like measles...her kid had a slight temp for a bit, then seemed reasonably happy & normal

It really annoyed me how much the A&E / doctors charged for babies / toddlers in chch. We tried to take DS when he was little and it was going to cost us heaps down there (week day, during the day) so we took him to my mums dr and paid about $25 - still far too much if you ask me. My dr on the shore costs nothing and neither does the local Accident and Medical clinic ... and its only a $10 surcharge at weekends.
No idea how chch justifies their charges, when rent, wages etc would be more expensive in ak!!
