Topic: Whats in your nappy bag? Posted: 23 June 2011 at 3:53pm |
They say the contents of a woman's handbag say a lot about her.
So as a bit of fun I was wondering what do you have in your nappy bag?

Now that Lily is 16 months it's really just my handbag with wallet, phone, keys, pen, change of clothes for Lily, bib, her water bottle and sometimes food for her (depends if we are stopping to eat then she just has what we eat (rarely eat McDs, KFC, BK so never been an issue), 2x nappies and wipes. I sometimes take a toy or small book.

Jeez sounds like some of you guys drag some stuff around! Mines really my handbag I guess (MUST buy a new handbag! Hehe) and has been for the last few months or so.
2 or 3 nappies, wipes, bib, spoon, sometimes bum cream if we need it, woolly hat (but it is normally on his head), phone, wallet, camera, inhaler.
I do have a wee bag in the car though (we live 20min from town now after going emergency clothes shopping the other day after he got soaked and dirty LMAO) that has a change of clothes, 2 nappies, wipes and a bib in it

No spare baby clothes now which hasn't been an issue since he was young and used to pee and pooh through everything!!!

Depends on how long we are going out for - if its down the road to the shops I take a single nappy, wipes, bum cream - I have a mini tube I got with my Reach Me pack. A flat cloth nappy which I often put down on the seat in the supermarket trolley - they can be filthy.
My keys seem to have become a popular toy when we are out.
When DD was newborn I took heaps of stuff - had two bags - one for her and one for me. I'd take a spare wrap, blanket, two changes of clothes, 4 nappies, cloth wipes, water bottle for me. Felt like a pack horse leaving the house most days.

these days it is keys, wallet, diary, pen, phone, notebook, wipes, mutli-purpose cream (Lucas' pawpaw or similar anything from bums to dry lips to grazes) plasters, undies and an wet bag for Soph, drink bottle and food.
In the old days I got into the habit of carrying wooly and sunny hats as the weather is so random. We got caught out a few times with the wrong hat. They fold down pretty small and tuck into a corner.

I don't use a nappy bag, i just have 1 nappy and some wipes in my normal handbag. No other specific baby things in there. We share a drink bottle and if they need food etc where we are going i would take that in a lunchbox.
If i needed something specific for a trip i would take it - like sunscreen or hats.

I still do that and a lot of the time I've needed both.

Great thread!
For my girls:
Nappies, wipes, plastic bags, change mat, bum cream, bibs, spoon, snacks, spare cuski's (for naps out), change of clothes for each, hats, sippy cups, toys.
For me:
Wallet, keys, ph, lip balm, hand sanitizer, dental floss, tissues + more (the usual handbag paraphenalia but reduced cos there's no room!)

Not much at all...
Two nappies
Wetbag
Wipes
Drink bottle
Snacks
Keys
Wallet
Phone
If I know we're going to be all day I might bring a change of clothes and bib.

Umm nappies for both kids, wipes, a couple of those disposable flannels, plastic bag for dirty nappies/clothes, change of clothes for both kids, bib, bum cream, wooly hat for Sebastian (Hailey's goes on her head when she gets into the car), ventolin inhailer and spacer, flat cloth nappy.
We use this bag as our Playcentre bag too so on those days Sebastian's lunch box and drink bottle gets added.
