We are moving house next weekend. (14th May), I am not too stressed about it as we are only going 2km down the road. So no stress with packing up to much before hand; will just do lots of small loads i think and go back and forward over a few days.

My question is: For those of you who have moved house with your bubbas how;d they cope with it? Do you think they noticed the difference? were they unsettled for a few days in the new place?? Or did they just settled right in given that it still there cot and parents and things around them??

Any tips for making the move easier for Rory would be appreciated!

We have just moved house over the weekend. Baby was a bit confused at first but once he realised he had all his stuff around him, he was fine. We had taken him to the house a few times before so he recognised it. What I did was I got my Mum to look after him for the day so he wasn't confused by what was happening. Then I made it a priority to set up his room before anything else so he would come home to somewhere familiar to sleep. I set his room up as much like it used to be as possible, and left the same sheets and blanket in the cot he had the night before at the old house. We also made sure we followed his same night routine when he arrived, so he had things he was used to. Hes been perhaps a little unsettled this week but really nothing too major or out of the ordinary. So I think as long as you have all their things around them and stick to what you usually do, it should be ok. Hope that helps :)

We moved house when our twins were 10 months old. We didn't have any issues at all. Hubby and I went the day before and set up their bedroom. Then on moving day I went to the new house and put the kids down for a nap while hubby and some friends unloaded all our furniture. So when the twins woke up all our stuff was there. They spent a day exploring the new house which was all fun & games and by day two they seemed to have fully accepted it as home.

Weve moved a couple of times. Each time we just have their rooms ready before we take them over so that when they get there it feels like home.

We've moved country and houses 3 times in the last 5 months. DS is happy as long as his toys and mum and dad are there. Logistically we have also found setting up his "spaces" (bedroom and play area in lounge) make it easier for all of us as he can observe the new space from his play area and go straight into his own bed - leaving my hands free for more unpacking. One more move to go for us...

We moved 6 weeks ago and didn't notice any change in DS. As long as everything is familiar and you're there I don't think they care where they are.

Although in saying that, DS is used to us stying in lots of different places
