does anyone find they are all over the place

for eg my daughter is 3 years 5 months so she is between a size 3 and 4 mostly 4s.

now she isnt what I would call a big child nor small just average.

now I bought her a polar fleece jacket from the warehouse and I thought I would get it her a 5 but it looked like it would be too small so I got a 6

anyway here is the jacket

Yes and it drives me mental. Half the stuff I buy is far too big and the other half just fits so my girls grow out of it too quick. So frustrating.

I buy bulk lots of TM for the next size up, most of the time she fits whatever is in there. The problem is there is not set 'size' for all the brands, every brand has its own idea of how big a child should be at that age.

Isn't that just like adult clothing though, no "set" size.
I find warehouse particularly narrow (or is that my boy is particularly not-narrow)
At the moment my 21mth boy has on average a body size 3 and a limb length size 2.

I find it frustrating, yesterday DD was wearing PP jeans in size 12-18 months which are a bit long but the 6-12 month ones are too small, a Kathmandu T-shirt size 18 month-2, a size 1 singlet and a teenyweeny jacket size 0 (6-9 months). I'm getting better at looking not looking at the label and just focusing on the actual size of the clothes.

Yep I find this hugely frustrating too. We buy our big boy at least a size 2, and even some of that is looking too small. I find it quite hard to guess what trouser size too, as he has a very big tummy, but kind of normal length legs!

No real solution I guess - I just ask my brother to buy a lot of BabyGap outlet stuff in the States for me and ask for a variety of bigger sizes!

This drives me mental - my 3 month old is tight in most 00 sizes, in 0 size JK pants but swims around in PP 00 sizes, it drives me mad. I got given one of those PP bear suits in 000 when he was 6 weeks old and it was far too small even then!

Double frustrating because we only have a farmers and a PP so i do most my shopping online and do a lot of sending back!

I've kinda managed to get it sussed and know what size my boy is where coz he's been the same size since 5mnths old. He's size 0 at farmers, the warehouse and baby factory and baby city. He's 6-12month tops at PP and 12-18month pants at PP. 9-12months at JK. We don't have a kmart but the few things i have from there are odd, his size 0 bodysuits are getting small but size 1 tshirts are massive.
Also i use onesie bummsies so his bodysuit sizes range from 000-1 lol

I love the baby stuff that has cm measurements. The OOO, OO or O drives me mad too, DD fits OO, O and bigger. She even has some 12-18 mo clothes that are a nice fit now!

DD grows out of stuff in length long before she's gotten big enough to fit clothes, stuff with feet and domes that do up in the crotch she grows out of quickest, too short t-shirts and pants are ok.

K-mart t-shirts are the biggest and PP is the smallest. Teeney Weeney fit ok and T&T seem to be the smallest/strangest sizing. Don't have much from The Warehouse as that requires a special trip to shop there.

Most of our clothes are hand me downs or have been gifts.

Has meant I've been reluctant to buy stuff in the sales for next summer / season as I don't know how big DD is going to be or what will fit.

DS has just gone up to 12month clothing now, except in PP clothes, which I find huge, he's still in the 6-12month stuff there and will be for some time yet.
I found it worse when he was younger, there seemed to be huge variations.

But I have found that even when DS is wearing stuff that is labelled for exactly his height, it still doesn't fit! Usually way too big.
