Wondering if anyone can recommend a nice hotel/motel in Taupo?

We are wanting something with one bedroom so DD can have her day sleeps separate from the rest of the space and a spa bath/pool in the room. DH smokes so need a deck area for him.
Bonus if there is food available on site but not essential. Also nice to see the lake but again, not essential for the right place and dont need to be right on the waters edge.
Although we dont want to pay a bomb, we are happy to pay a bit more for something really nice as we dont go away often (once a year usually) and spend a lot of our time at the hotel/motel.

So any recommendations would be good.
Thanks

not sure about motels etc but we stayed in the Tiki lodge - its a back packers, but really quiet, you can book your own room that has its own bathroom as well... but all the TV & kitchen facilities are in the common areas. its about 5mins walk from town.
can't remember their phone number but they have a website if you google them!

The other place my parents stay is Waraki Resort, its just outside taupo, but has all the facilities, and reasonably priced from what I understand

We have stayed in the Alpine Lake Motor Lodge which is pretty nice although from memory last time DP wasn't happy as I think all the one bedrooms are upstairs with no balcony (he's a smoker too)

We go up to Taupo a fair bit as its nice & close and I've decided that next time we go I want to stay at DeBretts in the motel units, chalets or cabins. They look really nice and they do some awesome packages (plus you get to use all the facilities) Worth a look on their website and even here Wotif as there is some good deals

We stayed hereat the Ascot Motor Inn. They were fantastic and we rung them up 2 days before coming up last June (funeral hence short notice). They were very helpful in meeting our needs; we wanted a bath/spa for DD and bathing, they had 2 bedrooms+ lounge/dining/kitchen combined. They were friendly. Had a deck for smoking (my mum smokes). We arrived late - about 10pm and they had the heaters on for us and everything! We stayed twice as we were heading to Auckland so went Wgtn to Taupo to Akl to Taupo to Wellington and stayed in the Spa Studio and the 1 bedroom apartment. Can't remember how much we paid but recall it was affordable (being last minute and for a funeral we weren't looking to break the bank iygwim!). They were also a 2 min stroll from the lake (so not lake side).
