Hey everyone,
DS has been in cloth nappies fulltime for about 7 months now and he has been nappy rash-free pretty much all the time (apart from the rare occasion which lasts a few hours). He has started eating a lot more solids now so we recently started using flushable liners and now he has nappy rash which is not really going. We have stopped using the liners at night due to this reason.
We are using the Real Nappies liners. Does anyone have any recommendations for other flushable liners which might be a bit better? I was wondering if it was because perhaps they don't breathe? Any suggestions would be very much appreciated!
It could be the liners, or it could be something he's eating. We've given up on disposable liners and just gone back to scrubbing nappies because DD gets an awful rash. But even without using them, she still gets rashes now and again from odd foods. Nuts are a big no-no here. But it could be any food really.
I started a thread recently on liners for sensitive skin and got some good recommendations.
Trudz also kindly sent me some my baby liners which I'm happy to send on to someone who might use them as they were a no-go for DD's bottom.
Have you thought about using washable liners? We just use microfleece liners, easy to pick up and hold on to while flushing the yucky bits down the loo then they scrub up fine and go through the wash with the nappies.
Cheapest way to do it is buy some microfleece (not to be confused with microfibre!) and cut to fit the inside of your nappies.
Any rashes K has had are not connected to their use :D
Kiara is 3 and Teagan is 2, now we're expecting our long awaited 3rd!
We used the Real Nappies liners when Campbell was small, and they are really rough compared to other flushable brands, so that could easily be the problem. Like Kalimarella said, microfleece is a great option (we use microfleece most of the time), or a few much nicer flushable brands include Bambino Mio and Bummis.
