Topic: Gender slection what have you done? Posted: 10 April 2011 at 7:54am |
Hi Everyone I am keen to hear from anyone who has tried (and is keen to admit ) Trying for a perfered gender. We would like to try for a girl baby and have been given lot's of different tips, but would love to hear from anyone who has seriously tried and what did you do?
Of course a healthy baby is all that matters but thought it would be fun to give it a go x

I tried the BD a few days before Ov & not on Ov to get a girl, we tried this for ages & then gave up as I did not care in the end & just wanted a baby, but it has not happened.
We have 3 boys.

It is funny as for my other pregnancies I never thought about it but with planning the last one & trying for 4.5yrs it hasn't happened, I think maybe I can not do the pink thing.
I guess it depends on how much time & energy you put into it & how much you believe it. I never got carried away with it.
Good luck

One of my best friends found something on the internet that said what foods to eat, days to BD, positions to BD etc etc. They did everything to get a boy and got another girl. I could ask her for the website if you wanted? Theirs isnt such a great recommendation for it though...

We did the 3 days before ov thing to get our girl. Got pg first month with both of them so that wasn't an issue for us (maybe I would ahve given up after a while if it didn't happen quickly tho!). My dr reckons shes told hundreds of couples how to do it and only 1 didn't get what they wanted ... worked for us anyway. Good luck!

We tried prior to ov for a girl. And some diet changes. We got a boy.
I think all the things you can do may help, but of course they don't guarantee. So, just don't get your hopes up too high.

You could look up the ingender forum
Sometimes the site runs really slow but people do hard out swaying there which they believe helps with getting the gender you desire.
Heaps of info to read through

We accidentally had a girl so can't help there but specifically tried for a boy. Sorta charted by using the ovulation calendars, you know the one where they give you green for ov. We only BD'd on those days. Took us a long time but we got our boy.

I tried the Dr Shettles method twice for a boy, got preg both times, but also mc'd both, last one was maybe a boy (13weeks, still hard to be sure of gender without testing which I didn't want/wasn't offered). One of my friends tried Shettles for a girl, got a 3rd boy. So don't try Shettles, lol. Think maybe my chemistry's just not right for boys anymore. Or perhaps boy DH's swimmers aren't keen. He works in a heavy chemical/hot environment, which apparently encourages daughters.

I did the diet side including cranberry and calcium supplements. We also did the timing before OV. I researched a bit on In-gender as well. I'd say it was a half effort for us. I think so much of it comes down to timing of BD'ing :) Whether it worked - we'll find out today - it's our 20 week scan. We think it's a boy only for the fact we really want a girl and DF has two boys from a previous relationship.... He has a track record haha. It's my first though so I'm thrilled to be pregnant so either gender is great :)

Well for all the efforts with timing and supplements, I think it's all down to science well beyond anything we can influence. Old Wives tales are out the window too as I had mostly girl signs. We're having a BOY!! He wasn't shy in flashing his bits!
