Grovia Magic Stick

I just got one of these! They say it is safe to use with cloth nappies, but my question is are they really, truly, completely safe to use with cloth? Do you need to use flushable liners, or can you actually smother the bottom with magic stick then, say, use a microfleece liner which gets washed with the nappies? And if it gets onto the nappy (because the microfleece liners tend to bunch up a bit sometimes), it won't cause buildup?
