ok so thats a bad pun for reasons that will come clear later on.

Firstly some background. Daniel is 20 months old, and has nearly no speech and rarely responds to voice and other noise (but that's a whole different story). Anyway for some time now he has been quite 'fixated' with getting his hand down the front of his nappy - and if he can flipping his bits up and/or out. So when he pees he ends up drenched, and we go thru yet another set of clothing. I would like to stop this behaviour ideally fullstop - or at least him doing it in public areas, and to the extent where he ends up so wet.

I have had suggestions of telling him he can do it only in a certain place - eg bedroom, however if he's not hearing this could be a wee bit difficult. If I catch him 'in the act' so to speak, and remove his hand and put my hand up in a stop sign he just thinks its a game and laughs at me, and then does it again - even if we have toys nearby to distract.

Our older son never did this, so I am really unsure what to do. Any ideas?

Oh and just to add in, since posting I now need to go change him again :( . It doesnt matter what brand of nappies I use, and I had tried going down a size to see if he can't get his hand down the front. I have a pair of short overalls which I tried keeping him in, but he's learnt how to get to his bits when wearing them. He does have 2 all-in-one tshirt/short type things, but he's wearing them to bed atm, so often one in the wash, one to wear

my boy is 5 and still loves sticking his hands down his pants and playing with it. have you had him tested to see if he can hear cause that will a difference to how you can deal with it.

Yup, we have been at the audiologist 3 times in the last year and a bit, most recently last week. He passed the tests where they physically measure responses, but this time around the test where he shows them his responses - by turning and looking for the source of the noise he didn't. We got mixed results last time too.
