Has anyone done toddler soccer with their little ones?

There's this local club for kiddy soccer - little dribblers. It's for kids 1 -7 years.

I'm thinking of signing DS up for it (19mths). Is that too young? Should I wait another year?

I wouldn't think it was too young. I assume that all they do is have some fun, kick the ball around etc. IMO if it is low key and fun for him then it should be fine

Our DS does this. He is 19months. At this age it is more about getting used to running around and trying to get familiar with kicking the ball etc as well as the social interaction side of things. My DH takes him and they really enjoy it. As they get older they start to learn more skills but at this stage it is just a run about and a kick or two with mum/dad. Go for it!

Hi, we have Kindy Kickers here and I wanted to take ds as he has an absolute ball obsession and loves kicking a ball around. They only take them from 18mo - 5 years here, and ds is only 16mo so I emailed them to check if that was ok and they said they are only insured for 18 mo and over. But i will definitely be taking him in a couple of months time!

Hi, I run 'Little Kickers' here in Auckland, quite different to Little Dribblers but we all have the same aim. You can start any age (well, over 18months mostly) provided you don't have high expectations - it's all about fun and getting involved and heaps of enthusiastic banter between parent and child.

See how it goes, it's such good dad/child bonding too and possibly a break for you as well! Enjoy
