Topic: 3 things I miss... Posted: 10 March 2011 at 5:46pm |
Was thinking about this when vacuuming.
1. I miss that after I vacuum the floor it doesn't stay tidy for a good few days like it used to, it's usually dirty again within hours depending on what time of day I vacuum.
2. I miss having my sleep/bed/bath to myself.
3. I miss eating adult food like curries.
I could go on but then they get to the usual like money lol

Love it...I was thinking similiar while cooking....
I miss having the time to try out new and complex receipes that take ages. These days I cook just to simply get something on the table.
I miss having the time to worry about what I'm going to wear for the day.

I miss
1. Having a newborn that will fall asleep on you
2. Having regular facials
3. Being able to pee without a child in the bathroom as they cant be left alone without bawling....
Other than that... All the other things I did when childless I dont particularly miss as I knew it was just a season, so enjoyed it while it lasted!!!

I miss not being able to just sit and read a book if it is good - back in the day I could demo a good book in a day or so. Now it takes about a month
I miss sunny afternoons at the waterfront bars

I was thinking the same thing about vacuuming this morning as I was yet again scraping Weetbix out of the carpet, after vacuuming yesterday lol...
I also agree with your number 2!

OMG forgot that one & even DH calls out to me now while I sneak to the toilet & they all call out & I keep telling them not to yell for me as I can not yell out I am on the loo as I don't want the whole neighbourhood to know, also worried I may forget to shut the door when visitors are here as I am so used to having to have it open joys

I miss having an in-depth conversation with my friends without it being interupted by baby talk and forgetting where we were at lol
I miss being able to stay in bed ALL day, just cos I wanted to
And I miss being able to play my music really loud in the car (and listen to my own music not nursery rhymes lol)

I miss...
1. Finishing things... housework, a cup of tea/coffee, a shower, a sentence.
2. Uninterrupted quality time with DH.
3. Still being pregnant, when she was all mine.
1 and 2 I'll get back eventually. 3 I miss the most because I know I'll never have that time again.

I miss being able to go for a walk/run without things other than boobs bouncing along with me!
I miss going out to the movies WITH DP instead of 'tag-teaming' the kids and bing loners at the movies
I miss experimenting with baking/cooking

I miss not being able to just take the day off and lay in bed when I'm sick.
I miss the simplicity of life before becoming a mum; and yet
I miss my DD every night she goes down to bed and don't get to see her smile again until morning.

I miss just being able to pick up and do what I want after work and going out for a drink at 10pm after finishing work with workmates and it ending up being an all nighter.
I miss working in hospitality and my social life that came with it.
I miss doing dance classes, the hassle of finding a class I can go to and have DD looked after and not having the money as I sacrifice that so we have money for her.
