Bubs is currently on antibiotics for an ear infection which seems to be still bugging him - i remember reading about alternatives to antibiotics to help clear them up.
Anyone know of this? I don't really want him to be forever on antibiotics to get it sorted.....

I have used it on myself with an ear ache but not sure about bubs. Cut a clove of peeled garlic and put the cut end in the ear. Then sleep with that ear up off the pillow so the juice drains into the ear. I really don't know about bubs though. I am sure it can't hurt but ears are so precious that I would be very careful.

Kiwi Herb are on the internet and do a fab product called "De-Stuff" for kids. It's herbal/natural remedy for ears and nose. It helped my eldest to stop having so many ear infections and the ones she did get, a combo of medicine and De-Stuff helped them clear up quicker. Now when she gets a bit snuffly we dose her with De-Stuff straight away and it usually doesn't develop into anything major.

It has a dosage on the label for little ones - you can always give less than the stated amount if that makes you feel more comfortable using a herbal product iygwim. Best of luck

A couple of drops of pure lavender oil down the ear will work a treat. Or soak a chopped onion in some water and put a couple of drops of the water down the ear and it will also work :)

Also, pop some eucalyptis oil on a tissue under the sheet - this helps to keep the earways clear. Worth doing whenever they get snotty. Or in a burner/vapouriser.

Raise the top of the bed to help sleep.

Destuff is good too.

My sympathies - ear infections are the pits. We ended up having to go down the grommets path.
