My son is nearly one and he started sleeping through the night at about 8 months old...

Then at about 10 months he started teething and waking up at night and now it seems he has almost gotten into a habit of waking up and the only way we could get him back to sleep was by giving him a bottle (bad I know but anything to keep the peace as he was waking up our daughter and the whole of the house when we have visitors!) - so of course he has taken a liking to this and screams andd screams if we don't give him a bottle.
He seems genuinely hungry and usually drinks the whole bottle then goes straight back to sleep - so I was thinking maybe it's a growth spurt etc but this has been going on for 2 months now !!

Our daughter slept through at 6 months and never stopped so never had these issues with her - so unsure how to go about sorting it ...have heard that watering the night time milk down gradually can work.

He has a bottle before bed but goes to sleep OK on his own, it's just when he wakes up at night he thinks he needs it !!

Thanks for any advice !!

Maybe cut down the amount of milk in the bottle by 30-40 ml every second night. That way he may not even really notice that there is less, and he may get to the point where it is just not worth it for him. It worked for us anyway!

Does he have a pudding? Like a banana, or custard or something to help fill the tummy before his bedtime bottle?

thanks maya, might try that route first...yes he has a pudding after his tea - I keep feeding him until he is full as I thought that he was waking at night just cos he wasn't getting enough solids before bed..

Hi - my DS is 13 months and done the same since 10 months. Coincided with all his molars coming through. We get up 1 - 5 x a night, and sometimes a bottle settles him back tosleep. I really thinks its the molar teeth as just after a tooth comes through we get some solid nights sleep until the next one pops through. I was all worried, tired etc but I have totally changed my attitude to...do what you have to do, its just a stage and nothing lasts forever. Might be diff when number 2 comes along in a few months, but I try and just roll with it and not stress and it seems to help me cope with lack of sleep much better.... good luck
