So DS has just started to "eat" the end of his cot when he wakes up. He has made a right mess of it, taken the paint right off and it's down to the wood. Is there anything we could put on it, that won't harm him when he bites it or wreak the cot, to stop him doing it? I said to DP vinger but that might wreak the cot.

Any suggestions or ideas would be great!

Thanks

This lady makes some nice cot rail protectors, made out of fabric and are washable.

I used a cot protector down the side rail, and on the ends I just folded a towel over it and secured it with nappy pins. Once there was something there to stop him doing it he was fine!

I bought some of those cot rail proctectors off TM, they are great.
And at the ends of the cot, I have wrapped an 'old' style cloth nappy around it and sellotaped it, not really attractive, but it's preserving the cot.

We have cot protectors for the sides too and I'm glad we do - they are not in good shape already! They have stayed on though and appear to be really durable! DS hasn't gone for the ends yet - I may pich stefany's idea and wrap cloth nappys around....

Thanks for all the helpful ideas guys. The sides have the teething rails on them but not the ends, so DP has cable tied an old towel round the end for now!

My DD was terrible for this too! It's amazing how quickly they damage the cot! We got some protectors for the sides and used an old sheet at each end and nappy pinned them to secure them.
