Alex CLM is a group of gyms there are a few around Auckland!!
Jazzy I went to the one at Cameron Pool and have done it twice!! First time was FAB as there was only 12 of us in the group and we all got on so well and supported each other it helped to keep the motivation going I lost 6.5 kgs. 2nd one was crap as the group was HUGE ie 40 people and only 2 insturctors, so this meant too much time hanging around waiting for your turn etc etc. I lost 3kg but to be honest I could and did this without the challenge IYKWIM!!!
So my advice would be to find out how big the number is in the class as if it gets too big i dont think you benefit enough etc. Oh yes the 2nd time around we had these suppplements which to be honest no one took and were crap but they insisted it was part of the deal and not negoiatable etc etc. Also the 6pm at night could be challenging to get to with small kids and DH running late etc.
I see Cameron Pool is doing another one starting on the 7th Feb.
I would be interested to see if you do it!!

that was the one I was looking at doing. I would not be able to make 6pm, its too busy here & could be a problem when DH is on call.
I took the kids to swimming lessons & enjoyed swimming so thought I would do it while DS3 is at kindy to help lose some weight, then thought its not much more to join the gym & then saw the flyer for the challenge....but I think I will start with swimming & then do a free trial at the gym to see if Ii will stick to it.
I did send them a enquiry email so sill waiting to hear back & will ask how many in the class.

Great - I think you are wise not to try and do it at that time! They are talking about doing a 6am one which i think would be better for myself personally and i know a few other people who would be keen to do it in the morning.

Hi ladies,
I love to hear people interested in tackling something like an 8 or 12 week challenge to get themselves back into the swing of things. It's a fantastic way to work out and stay motivated in a group setting and to having that competitive aspect both internal and external is always great for added drive.
My names Matt and i'm the Fitness Centre Coordinator at Cameron Pool.
I love to hear the feedback both good and bad, and i'm sorry to hear you did not enjoy the most recent challenge here at Cameron Pool Pickle. I sent out some feedback forms after the challenge and on the whole they were largely positive. So i'd really love to hear the things that we can look at improving to give you a more enjoyable experience with your next one.
It was definitely the largest challenge numbers wise that we ever saw at Cameron Pool and I feel we learnt a large amount from it but there's always room for improvement.
If anyone has any further question at all or would like to give me any feedback please do not hesitate to contact me at mbp@clmnz.co.nz

pickle IKWUM about the 3kg loss, I could do that without paying out for what I believed was an intensive challenge just by walking & eating well & in less that 7 weeks if I stuck to it.
So have changed my mind about the challenge now, don't want to go in a big group or get supplements I wont use. It is too hard to get to at certain time with DH's work & I wanted to do something while DS3 was at kindy so if I do join a gym & will ask for a free weeks trial just to make sure I am not throwing money away & will go with no fixed contract.

Hey Jazzy - I am not a member at the CLM one either and TBH one of the reasons was the lack of child care facility!! I too wanted one that i could do during the day but alas they dont do it. I have just started one at Contours in Greenlane bit more expensive but you dont have to be at the gym at a certain time and they still do the group thing once a week.
Maybe we should get together and go walking haha saves the hassle of the gym!!!
