Glass bottles

i got some but never used them....i know a lot of people won't use plastic anymore but we just used tommee tippee close to nature.. I found cleaning them a big issue and they also ended up too hot..

Yeah we have the evenflo ones as well. I didn't find them too much of an issue, if you are using them for breastmilk then you don't need to sterilise them, otherwise you can just boil for 5 mins in a large pot to sterilise them or use the milton tablets.

If you are worried about BPA, which is a very valid worry considering they are banning it in other parts of the world but don't want to go glass then medela bottles are BPA free and they can be bought at babycity/factory and online, but they also cannot go in a microwave sterliser so it's either not sterlising if using breastmilk or boiling/milton tabs for them as well, and that goes for the parts of their breastpumps too.

All the good stuff in breastmilk does the job for you so you just need to wash in hot soapy water and rinse well with hot water and that's that. If you read the instructions of most pumps and the info you can get from mw's etc about pumping they all say you don't need to sterlise.
I use to sterilse the bits of my breastpump/bottles every so often though just to be sure.

Yeah who has time to think about reading instructions when you have a newborn though! besides it doesn't hurt to sterilise anyway even if you don't need to.

I just put my evenflo bottles in the dishwasher, along with the bits from the breastpump. Seems to get them very clean.
I don't sterilise anything. I really do not think it is necessary at all.

As for the BPA, I'm pretty sure the Tommy Tippee ones are mostly BPA free now, I'm sure I read it on their website.

I guess a downside to glass would be if you are clumsy!!

When I was feeding caden with TT bottles(08/09 they were that clearer looking plastic and then with Bella 09/10 they were the foggy looking plastic which I think is the BPA free ones??
