Topic: She wont drink her milk!! Posted: 12 January 2011 at 8:48am |
DD Hasn't had a bf since 8.30 last night. SHe normally has 3 feeds 7am 6.45pm 10pm. For the last few nights he has protested the 6.45pm one and wakes up earlier than normal for th 10pm. instead like 8.30- 9pm. Andthen this morning she wouldn't have her feed. Its normally first thing DH brings her into me if she wakes up while he's still here. Or I'll get her if I'm awake. I feed her in bed then we get up and have breakfast. She's really good at eating her solids.
Could she be weaning herself or is it just one of these stupid phases that they'll all go through.
Will my milk be ok if she starts skipping all these feeds.

Is she getting a tooth?
If you are worried about supply perhaps expressing until her strike is over and goes with out saying but making sure she is getting fluids in this hot weather. though maybe she is drinking more water and she isnt getting thirsty for milk?

SHe drinks ALOT of water. I've just had to buy her a new 270 sippy bottle I was filling her 150 ml one several times a day.
I don't know about teeth, she's still not got any. Snd she's not any grizzlier than normal, but it could be that.

Hey BB, we are having a bit of that here too. Wants to be on the floor moving around instead. I put a necklace on today that she could play with while she fed, and that seemed to do the trick. Worth a try maybe?

You could offer her more feeds during the day instead of water (though I don't mean for you to cut out water completely if that is part of her routine), if you are worried about supply.

Coukd she be too hot at night to drink milk?? Because the milk is warm etc. The reason I think this is becasue she is happy to have her mornign feed, (seemed to only be that morning I wrote this post she refused it) and then the 10pm one. At the 7.45 one she gets a sweaty.
Last night I tried the necklace and I sat out side in the cool breeze but she still wasn't having it, she just gets worked up an dI just put her to bed without it.
