We have healthy insurance through my work, for me and the children. It is through Southern Cross, and as i already had an account i just called them when DD was born and added her on. I *think* i pay about $14 a month per child - just call them and they'll be able to give a price for what kind of cover you want.

(and already hers has paid for itself and the next few years)

2. dont have one.

Got given a digi frame for our wedding 3 years ago and it is still in the box My folks have one though and love it.

Find our who your DH's medical insurance is with and get a family policy. Otherwise just ring round and get quotes. Southern Cross are popular (but expensive), Tower and UniMed are a few of the common ones.

we have health insurance with Southern Cross, through my work. I will add DD to the policy once she arrives! You can get a range of cover from everything, GP visits and dentist, optometrists etc to just major surgery for example. Obviously the more comprehensive policy you have the higher the premiums are. Also they will not cover pre-existing conditions (even things like if your wisdom teeth have come through). Best to call around and find the best that suits your budget. I think it is a great idea for children to be covered cos it means things are easier as adults, I wish my folks could have afforded it when I was younger!

I must say that I've been happy with my southern cross health insurance too. They've been good to deal with - better than my previous provider. They were good with travel insurance too, and paid out when we needed health care overseas. I called them collect from a small payphone in what felt like the middle of no where, and it was SO reassuring to talk to someone in Auckland when it came to pre-approving the treatment.

Southern cross here too. One thing to remember is its good to get kids on it asap cause any preexisting conditions won't be covered so you wanna get them on it before anything crops up. Like for me cause I have abnormal smears nothing to do with my cervix will be covered as that was a preexisting thing before I joined
