My sister married a Canadian, and lives over there now - she was living with us for a good part of my pregnancy, and was gutted that she missed out on being here for his birth and can't cuddle him herself. She's only just met him (on a trip to NZ).

So from when he was newborn, me and DH made a real effort to take one photo every day and put it in a FaceBook album for her, so she can feel like she knows him just a bit. I love it - it means I've got lots of nice photos and you can really see him grow in them.

Anyway, I like making the photos a bit interesting, rather than just a mug shot So, for example, if I get time to buy one, on Friday I'll put a red nose on him. I dressed him up as a cow for halloween, etc etc.

I thought I'd post this topic to see if anyone has any cute ideas for photos - I'd LOVE to hear them

You could do the 12 days of christmas and dress him like the object from each day...

If you go the BLW way when you start solids there will be photo op's galore, but he's a wee way off that yet.

His boohoo face is awfully cute but I guess you don't want to achieve that too often

I got some cute ones yesterday - in the bath, lying in a hammock!, and a cute angle during tummy-time here .

I'm in the same boat really, both my parents and sister live in Australia.

Do you guys Skype? I've skyped my mum twice this week, just for short periods during his awake time. Not terribly stimulating for me, since most of the time my mother is calling his name trying to get his attention!!

Hehe JadeC... just had to say that I have a similar pic of Isla during tummy time on that exact same blanket! lol
It is hard at that age when they just kind of lie there....... I go crazy with my camera and take photos of Isla almost every day. I just play round with silly angles and change the tone of the photos... ie make some black and white, some sepia, or enhance just one colour in the pic. I'm not much into photos of babies with props..... I leave that to Anne Geddes.

We often do silly hairdo's in the bath, so that could be one?

Making him giggle (I can't remember if they're already laughing yet or not at about 3 mths), those are great shots.
