Topic: 2 car seats Posted: 25 October 2010 at 10:18am |
Hi
Just wondering what everyone's recommendations and suggestions are re having two car seats in the car. Where do you put the capsule and the car seat? Beth is currently behind the passenger seat. Do we leave her there or move her over to the other side. Don't think we can fit one in the meddle and one at the side?? Thanks

i have my oldest behind me and the youngest on the passenger side on the back seat. it is way esier and quicker for me to flick mack out and then he stands between me and the car while i whip the baby out so he cant take off.

We have daniel on the passenger side and alex on the drivers side.. I open the door for daniel, he jumps in, I shut the door and whip round and put alex in and then go buckle daniel in.. and then if I'm getting them out I get alex out first and press the button for daniel to get out and he hops out by himself. I'd rather have him on the footpath side than the road side when he does this as he can take off, alex cant

Thanks for all the replies... it is really hard to know what to do for the best. Guess it will be trial and error. Going to keep Beth on the passenger side to begin with and see how it goes.

For those with the petrol on the passenger side, teach your child "hands in the square" works brilliantly & they stand there with their hands on the car until you are done

I've got my oldest on the passenger side too - i figure it's only a matter of time before he figures out how to open the car door, so I'd much rather he did that onto the kerb and not an open road...
aandcsmum - i love the "hands in the square" trick!! definitely trying that out tomorrow

my car has "kiddy locks" but yeah I too put my oldest on the passenger side will likely put her on the drivers side once she is forward facing and her brother is walking and can get him self in and out of his carseat

I have Emily on the passenger side and Charlie on the driver side for mainly the same reasons as everyone else, Emily gets out onto the footpath and i feel safer that way.
