I was hoping someone could help recommend a car seat for my 20month old DD. She is currently rear facing in a Brio, however baby #2 is due at the end of the year so she will need to be switched to forward facing as the Brio doesn't fit rear facing behind the drivers seat (I'm 5'11, hubby is 6'2). The issue we have is that she weighed in at 16.8kg(!!!) at Plunket on Tuesday, and unless her weight gain drastically slows down in the next few months she will hit the 18kg forward facing limit and need to go into a booster seat, as the 5 point harness on the Brio is only up to 18kg.

Obviously she is way, way too young to go into a booster, so I need to find a car seat that forward faces with a 5point harness beyond 18kg. Is the Radian the only one available that does this? The only other option I can see are the child safety harnesses that tether directly to the car as seen on Childrestraints.co.nz, but I'm not too keen on these.

If the Radian is our only option, what are they like for shoulder width?

TIA for any advice!

your daughters weight should slow down and it might taken her anotehr 12-18 months before she hits 18kgs

I'll measure the width on the Radian tomorrow for you (sorry, attached to a pump at the moment).

We've got this one... it's fantastic and it isn't very wide either.
