I am thinking of getting one for the nursery as the floor needs a mat. Has anyone got one, and are they worth it. I would probably just put a blanket down on top of it when bubs is little and on it.
i think they are great and will be getting a set for DS for either xmas or his bday. kmart has them and when they are on special i think they are only about 20 bucks.
do you mean the big foam ones that are puzzles? if so then it wouldnt make a good mat once the kid decides to pull it apart. if you need a mat check out spotlight or the warehouse for the play mats - we had a road one, it had houses and stuff and roads for the cars.
But I have to agree with Bizzy, I just went through and threw out most of mine today as they were all over the place and I was sick of them (and we only have 9 letters!!)

Have to agree with the others - I got sick of my son pulling the letters out all the time and destroying them! I still have most of them, but have to admit they are sitting in a pile not actually being used as a mat at the moment!
amme_eilyk - we have one and it is great my son started to take it apart a lot to begin with - but now he only does it (maybe once a week) not very often.
However be aware that when they bite them the foam can come apart! (This could be why my son stopped pulling it apart, as when he use to pull it apart he would bite it - which meant I took it off him so he soon stopped biting the mat and pulling it apart.)
But we love ours and now have it as two small mats one under his little table and chairs and one as a mat - also thinking of using it in the garage on the floor - for a change scene play this winter.
Just been reading posts about play mats and for those of you who have not yet found the perfect play mat here you go play mats from Small Small World NZ. This mat does not come apart like the puzzle mat, there are two sizes available in a number of designs.
