I know there have been topics posted on this before but they all seemed old so thought would make a new one...

Any recommendations on a good one...need one that can get extensions for as we have wide doorways but don't want just a wide one coz then when we move it won't fit....

There seems to be heaps on the market but I am not sure if there are standards (I would hope there are but not sure??). What should I look for?

I use the sides off our playpen and duct tape them to the door frame etc lol Luckily we live in my parents flat so landlord is dad lol

The gate that I want is over $100, its white and metal and has a gate that can be opened and closed.

I bought ours off Ebay and you can get extensions for them too. I think for memory we paid $50 for it off Ebay (Brand new).

Its not this exact one from this seller but its similar linky
We are in a rental so needed one that worked on pressure rather than screwing it into the wall. And it works well here.

We have a dream baby safety gate from the warehouse. We had to get an extension as we have a wide doorway at the top of our stairs - we had to buy the extension separate. It's good coz it opens both ways and it's like a pool gate in that it swings back and closes itself, and it's pretty hard for little hands to open (can also prove difficult for big hands!!). The only thing I don't like about it is the gate opening it quite small and narrow.

We have the dream baby ones too, Bunnings has all the extensions and everything, so if you measure what you want then go have a look, they are good because we move them around as we need to and can just remove bits or add bits.   They do cost quite a bit, around $130

We got one from bunnings that looked exactly the same as the dream baby ones but was about $20 cheaper, you can get extensions for it too. We've found it fantastic for keeping DS out of SIL's lounge.
