I need some more ideas for Jackson's lunch at DC. At the moment his lunch usually looks a bit like this:

Weatbix for breakfast

Sandwich with peanut butter, vegemite or nutella
or
Toastie usually with cheese
Or
Noodles

As well as
Cuskits with cream cheese
Fruit - Usually banana (he loves them). Sometimes with avo
Yoghurt (every 2nd day)
Rice crackers for snacks
Milk biscuits for snacks

I'd like to mix it up a bit more, but he likes things that are pretty plain, which suits me cos its mostly low in sugar, salt and colours.

TIA

You may not be allowed to send peanut butter or nutella sandwiches because of nut allergies. A lot of preschools are nut free, and sometimes egg and glad-wrap free like ours. Not that anyones allergic to glad-wrap they just think its too fiddly for little fingers to unwrap.

What about little rolls or pita bread instead of sandwiches?

Often when we're out and about I take a little container with bits of dried fruit like raisins, apricots, cranberries or amazins.

Omlette? Mini muffins (I use a sugarfree recipe). Sugarfree banana bread?

There was a thread about this a couple of months ago... linky

Daniels daycare don't allow anything with nuts which is a PITA cause he looooves things with nuts in them. But that thread has loads of ideas

Thanks for the ideas girls . I love the omlette and mini cupcake idea Chelle.

Jackson is in Family day care, so its not as strict as traditional DC, and thankfully we can send him with anything that he can eat.

Thanks for the link Stacey, there are awesome ideas there

We are dairy and wheat free. Some ideas that our DD likes for lunch at her porse caregivers place:

Omelette with veg in it, fruit, sunflour seeds or pumpkin seeds, organic raisins, homemade apple muffins (sugar free) (I make heaps and freeze them) lentils with veg, rice and salmon (she loves this) falafels made in the morning. Heaps of stuff I make the night before (she will have for tea and then again for lunch or I make batches and freeze them)
