What nappies did you find were best for nighttime?

DS is 6 weeks old and I'm having to do multiple nighttime nappy changes so I'd like to find out what nappies are best to try cut down on this.

I have actually found all the nappies we have tried to work well! DS had skinny little legs and we had so many accidents in the early days (I had 6 bassinet sheets and contemplated buying more!!) but they then just stopped - not sure if it is because he had been losing weight but then started to gain ALOT so his legs filled out.

Anyway....the ones the have held overnight (12 hours+) for us are: Huggies, Treasures Ultra & Giggles (think there is a new Treasures brand which has replaced these), Babylove & Homebrand.

Good luck

I was using sposies at night but was having to change DS and bedding at least twice a night, so I ended up getting a Bitti Boo and haven't regretted it for a second. I haven't had a single leak since changing to cloth.

I tried Huggies, Pams, Budget, Treasures, Homebrand - all with at least on change a night, usually 2.

at that age i didnt expect my nappies to last all night anyway and would change them when they woke in the night anyway. i think it is par for the course to have to do night changes.

I disagree with Bizzy, I dont think there is anything wrong with expecting a nappy to last the night and from 4 weeks old only changed nappies at night if it was a pooey one...

I have never had leakage problems with J though, he is a small wetter so we can use anything... I do prefer huggies though.

Nappies didn't last all night for me until about 6 months! So I agree with Bizzy, however from about 3 months I wasn't changing everytime she was up.

I do have a night waker who has a feed when she wakes so that's probably why I was doing night changes for so long.

I dont mind doing a change during the night. I do mind leaking through 4 nappies between 22h00 and 06h00. Its excessive to have to change him after every feed day and night (he's still feeding 2-hourly).

At the risk of sounding unhinged, at some stage I need to sleep, eat, shower and go to the toilet myself and at this rate I'm having to pick one

Not unhinged at all!

H was a terrible leaker when a few weeks old, I found huggies worked best - maybe go up a size? And with cloth, a snazzipants fitted nap with a prefold inside as a booster and a bummis whisper pant did the trick.

Huggies worked well for us here. I only changed pooey nappies overnight from a few weeks in as well.

Can you still get those Johnsons blue nappy liners (cloth) that look like chux cloths? I used to use those overnight for the boys I nannied for in NZ. Just an extra bit of absorption for the front of the nappy!

I'm using up the babylove, homebrand etc for daytime and changing 2 hourly.

Tom started leaking through huggies at exactly the same age- I ended up putting a pocket nappy (without the insert) over the top of the nappy and it stopped any leakage

i suppose if you think its alright for a baby to sit in a wet smelly nappy there is nothing wrong with it... my boys never seemed to mind so much but my girl did.
I never had much luck with treasures either and used to use Air nappies i brought on line.
if its cause you dont want leaks you could always put a wool cover over the top. they can hold a lot!

Um yeah I agree! It's WAY to early IMO to expect a nappy to last all night so young lol. Once you do get to that stage though, I found BabyLuv cloth nappies awesome for staying leak free all night

I've found that the babylove nappies are the best for Koby - he normally last's the whole night in them. We also use them for the twins and they last the night in their ones also.
