I have a few random questions that im hoping you lovely ladies can help me with.

1. What age did you start dressing your child in pajamas (or something similar)?
2. What brand baby monitor do you use, is it a good one. (our one is in the process of dying, cuts in and out all the time, only 4 months old!)
3. When your child is in there own room for the night, do you have a monitor on, or just doors open?
4. I need some ideas for songs to sing when changing DD, my brain is mush.

ummm.... im sure I had more when I was thinking about it while feeding at 2am, thanks anyway

3.door just ajar a wee bit (since aged about 1 month)
4.heads, shoulders, knees and toes. here we go round the mulberry bush, grand old duke of york, or in my case the latest pop tune I cant get out of my head!

1. When a friend of mine bought them for him, before that it was just the clothes I don't want him seen in public in lol. Stretched bodysuits and the like. So 3.5, maybe 4 months. He gets put in those after his bed time bath so very easy to make putting pjs on part of bed time.
2. No monitor, he sleeps in our room.
3. When we put him in his own room we'll just leave the door open, but for a younger baby I would want a monitor,
4. You are my sunshine and rockabye baby are the only ones that come to mind. You are my sunshine usually calms C down within a couple of minutes. But I'm sure she doesn't care if your songs make sense lol, as long as it's vaguely tuneful it's still a song!

ETA: Whoops, you said when changing her! In that case I just sing whatever song I can think of. Lately it has been "If you like pina coladas..."
Ooh if you have a blue eyed blonde baby close to you by the carpenters is good too

1.DS #1 wore gowns until he was about 11 months as it was so much easier. DS#2 wore PJ's from 6 months. Not quite sure why..

2. I had a Tommee Tippee Ultimate Reassurance which was great until he started moving soa round 5 months then he would constantly be off the sensor pad. I now use a respience one which I love but its more a breathing one so depends if its for sound or breathing really.

3. Monitor on and door shut. My kids have always had their doors shut at night.

4.No idea as no singing here...thats DC's job But at a push we do sing heads shoulders knees and toes, I'm a little teapot and the ABCsong.

I've only started changing her into pjs as a night routine at about 3.5mths.
We don't use a monitor never have, her door is shut but not fully closed if you get what i mean. We live in a small house and her room is just across the hall and she is plenty loud enough when she wants something.
I don't sing when changing her because she is always good but when I do sing with her its Twinkle twinkle little star, papas gonna buy you a mocking bird (as a lullaby), incy wincy spider, 5 little ducks etc, and or i go to youtube look up a song I like and play sing along and maybe dance :P.
Kiara is 3 and Teagan is 2, now we're expecting our long awaited 3rd!

1. When she outgrew her size 000 all in ones, about 7 or so months.

2. Angelcare sound and movement. Love it!

3. I have the movement sensor on but I don't have the sound on at night, only in the day when I am doing housework while she is napping. Her door is always closed but not totally shut. Have cats that like to snuggle up to her!

4. At the moment I like the long ones while changing her nappy because she is suuuuch a wriggle pot. 5 little ducks, I'm a little teapot, 5 little monkeys umm actually I've had to put Elmo on TV when I change her nappy she has gotten so bad with wriggling away from me....

1. PJ's now that he has grown out of most sleepsuits
2. Avent monitor but no longer use it as we can hear him anyway
3. door closes - can hear him if he really needs us!
4. anything that comes into my head. "This is the way we....." and I make up the rest e.g. "put on our socks" - to the tune of Mulberry bush.

1. Pretty much from birth we had "sleepy clothes" (usually a merino gown) and "daytime clothes".

2. Angelcare sound and movement, and also love it. I sometimes don't bother with it anymore, but it was extremely reassuring in the first few months.

3. He co-sleeps with us a lot during the night now, so I don't have the monitor going (although I still find the nightlight on it useful). When he's in the cot for day sleeps, I have the monitor, especially if I'm in the kitchen at the other end of the house. It also works well all the way out to the clothesline and our storage sheds in the garden. (We have even used it for DH to call me in from the shed when he's looking after DS in the evening.)

4. This old man / Knick knack paddy wack and Hokey Pokey (put your right leg in, etc -- works well when putting on clothes!).

1. DD sleeps mostly in AIOs, and to begin with she was in them most of the day too, so for us it was more "what age did she start wearing non-pj's in the day?" and that was probably around 3 months or so.

2. We don't have a monitor.

3. Her door is open to the hallway, mine is pulled nearly closed. She's such a light sleeper it used to wake her up as I closed her door, so now I just close mine so she doesn't get disturbed by us (she'd wake up if I rustled the blankets getting back into bed ).

4. I mostly put her change mat under the play gym these days, and often hang something new from it so she plays with that whilst I change her. For songs, teddy bears picnic, nellie the elephant, various sound of music songs

1. What age did you start dressing your child in pajamas (or something similar)? He was in All in Ones from birth and then I put him into flannette PJ's from about 6months. Only because I think he looks super cute in them.
2. What brand baby monitor do you use, is it a good one. (our one is in the process of dying, cuts in and out all the time, only 4 months old!) Mum went out and bought us a Fisher Price one when DS was about 3 days old (she thought it was something we desperately needed), I've used it about twice  I don't need it and there is so much interference its crazy.
3. When your child is in there own room for the night, do you have a monitor on, or just doors open? Can't help with that, DS is in our room.
4. I need some ideas for songs to sing when changing DD, my brain is mush.
I usually have the radio on or TV on the music channel so tend to sing to whatever is on. He seems to like "real" songs more than nursery rhyme type ones (but that could be cos I always forget the words)

1. What age did you start dressing your child in pajamas (or something similar)? About 11/12 months I think
2. What brand baby monitor do you use, is it a good one. (our one is in the process of dying, cuts in and out all the time, only 4 months old!)  Never used one but will be once Clodgah moves to end bedroom to make way for new bubba. It's a flash Avent one I think- 2 way digital or something. Got it at the Parent and Child show :)
3. When your child is in there own room for the night, do you have a monitor on, or just doors open? No monitor (except as above) and we just push the door too, so it's still open a little bit.
4. I need some ideas for songs to sing when changing DD, my brain is mush.
Hush Little Baby (learn *all* the verses & it takes a while hehe), musical theatre ballards, Twinkle Twinkle....hmmmm whatever comes to mind. ALthough we don't sing at bed now, just shhh shhh her lol. Singing is done during the day....ALL day!

1. DD has always worn and AIO or nightgown to bed, although she hasn't worn a night gown since she was 3mo. I have proper pjs but they're too big atm. I never wore pjs as a kid, just wore my undies and a tshirt as I hated the feeling of them riding up my legs and arms!

2. We have a tommee tippee one, does exactly the same thing as the Angel Care movement one as it also has a movement part but it also has a handy night light attached which can have the light full or dim and it also has a thermometer for room temperature.
It's a really great monitor BUT it used to cut out and we had to regularly change what channel it was on when DD was in our room, mainly because the wireless modem used to interfere with it. Now she is in her own room it is fine!

3. I have the monitor going 24/7 but I recently had to get a replacement cord for the parent unit because it had worn and the wires were exposed so stopped going! (Luckily Dick Smiths sold what I needed!) Monitor is 6 months old too. But I have it in our room over night and move it to the lounge during the day where I mainly am.
I once accidentally forgot to bring it to bed with me and we have both our door plus DDs door shut and I woke up to her crying. She is in the room next door but due to the layout it's technically down the hallway even though it's next door... DW!
I also found since giving birth my body is very alert to DD, she makes a little sound and I notice.

4. Round and round the garden, went the teddy bear! 1 step, 2 step, tickley under there! - Draw circles on DDs stomach then use fingers for the steps and tickle under her underarms!
Head shoulders knees and toes...

1. What age did you start dressing your child in pajamas (or something similar)?
We still use AIOs too, they're so cute and babylike, his dayclothes are so grownup, I like the babyness of them. Same as T-Rex it wasn't till about 3 months he wore proper dayclothes except for special outings as he wasn't up long enough for it to be worth changing him all the time.

2. What brand baby monitor do you use, is it a good one. (our one is in the process of dying, cuts in and out all the time, only 4 months old!)
We use the Angelcare one, and still use the movement pad too. I suggested to DH the other day that we could stop now but he looked all freaked out and agreed to stopping at 1 year. I think it's a good one too.

3. When your child is in there own room for the night, do you have a monitor on, or just doors open?
We have the monitor on all night still.

4. I need some ideas for songs to sing when changing DD, my brain is mush.
I sing Hush Little Baby and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. We've also got the mobile above the change table so often I put that on.

I think we have always changed, bath is part of routine.

Baby monitors drive me mental, I got rid of it. If bub is awake I hear her and she's on the other side of the wall. I'm a light sleeper and don't have a need to hear every little snore and snort.

We have her door shut and ours mostly shut but not pulled to.

great songs suggested above.

4. I need some ideas for songs to sing when changing DD, my brain is mush.

1. I always changed her into something other than day clothes to sleep at night. It was a bodysuit to start with (she was a summer baby born at the begining of December) but she started in all in one PJs when she was about 3-4 months old.

2. I just have the Avent one they offer on Fly buys. Didn't use it for the first 10 months or so because first she was in our room then right next door. When her dad and I split we ended up at my parents place and her bedroom is upstairs and mine is downstairs so I have it on 24/7. It does get a bit of interferrence from time to time but usually only on one channel and I just change to channel B. I haven't had any issues with it but then I don't expect much from it coz I think its one of the cheapest models you can get. No special features on it or anything.

3. When she was in the room next door I just had the door open so I could hear her. Now that I am downstairs I just pull her door to at night (not closed but not all the way open if that makes sense). I don't like the idea of a closed door coz I like the idea of the air in her room being able to circulate.

4. Songs - I often have the wiggles best of cd and I often just flick it on and sing along.

Yay thanks for all the replies. I have been lazy up until now and have been only changing DD's clothes once a day, I have some cute PJ's that I might start using. I sing twinkle twinkle little star as I put her in her sleeping bag and tuck her in, she loves it, lots of big smiles. Thanks for all the song ideas, I can usually only think of one line, then get stuck, so just dont bother.

1. What age did you start dressing your child in pajamas (or something similar)?
6 months - when it started to get cooler, and we got given some cute as PJs

2. What brand baby monitor do you use, is it a good one. (our one is in the process of dying, cuts in and out all the time, only 4 months old!)
Never used one.

3. When your child is in there own room for the night, do you have a monitor on, or just doors open?
The girls were in their own room from the start (so 4 1/2 weeks old, when we came home from hospital) and we just had the bedroom doors open. I still do now, except I keep their bedroom door closed until I go to bed, otherwise the light seems to disturb them.

4. I need some ideas for songs to sing when changing DD, my brain is mush.
Twinkle twinkle little star, baa baa black sheep, humpty dumpty, ummmm incy wincy spider...I usually have the radio on and sing along with whatever song is on the radio at the time (whoever isn't being changed usually dances to it).
