Topic: The meaning behind your screen name ? :) Posted: 11 August 2010 at 4:17pm |
Hi fellow OB fans
I'm not sure if anyone else has wondered about this, but I often see screen names that intrigue me and I wonder how they came about.
So, I thought this would be a good thread to learn more about eachother.
My name is Princess_bubs because my real name is Sarah (meaning Princess) and when I came across this site I was pregnant - so it was like Princess and Bubs
Can't wait to find out about some of you....

This does seem to crop up fairly regularly
May 2009
January 2010
February 2010
interesting to see a few usernames have changed even since the most recent of those!
(and so I am actually answering the question too, mine is a shortened version of our last name)

and Tiger is DP's handle and nickname. He's a big (6'2 & 130kg) boy and blond and hairy so his mates call him tiger cos he used to drink Tiger beer when they became friends

It is probably in one of the other threads but anyway:
The short(ish) version of the story behind mine is that my BFF's boyfriend at the time found she and I asleep together in her bed and assumed we had taken the friendship further. Once she got him to speak to her again they were having a conversation about icecream and she told him her favourite flavour was caramel. He said "Oh is that what you call her?" (my name is Mel) and she's called me that affectionately since

When I set up my first email address, I'd just had a baby, and also had 2 semi-grown kittens (too small to be cats, too big to be kittens) and was wanting to set it up so i could join an msn parenting group based in Australia... so I came up with BabykatNZ... I've used it for so long, it almost feels like my name as much as my real name... its a lot more interesting too hehe! Plus it doesnt need to change depedning on how many kids I have, and their names etc... and unless people IRL KNOW I use that name, they'd never place me as 'that' person cos none of my real name features in it... then again, most of my IRL friends I mett off forums like this, so they know me by both names lol!
