Does anyone use these? I've always shaved my legs but lately have been getting shaving rash even while using a completely new sharp razor. Not a big fan of getting waxed so it would either have to be suffering shaving rash, epilators or hair removal creams (or just let my leg hairs grow out and go au naturale ).

How much does it hurt?
Is there any particular brand/model I should look out for or avoid?
Do you get ingrown hairs?
Any tips or tricks?

TIA

My mum has one of these and loves it. Shes used it for years and said it hurts at first but you get use to it and it doesnt hurt anymore. She never got ingrown hairs. She has bad exczma as well and never had any problems with the epilator. I think she said you have to pull the skin tightly and that minimizes the pain.
I tried it but found it painful and couldnt use it on my knees as I have lots of scars and it wouldnt remove the hair.

I have one. I find it more convenient that shaving but it doesn't give you the same nice smooth results. I do get ingrown hairs, you have to make sure that you exfoliate.

I don't think it hurts that much, it does hurt but it is bearable pain.

I use one and love it. Wont go back to shaving. The first few times you do it, it hurts like heck lol- I had to take "breathers" but now I don't feel a thing. You do get ingrown hairs which is annoying, but the fact that you don't have to de-fuzz as often as shaving is bliss! I'm not sure about brands as i've only ever used the one, but i'm happy with it - Braun silk. I think you just get them from Farmers or the likes.

Epilators are great, I have a Braun one. I used to shave and got sick of shaving every day in summer, then I tried waxing but hated having hairy legs in the last 3 weeks before you could get waxed again, it really hurt (I did it about 5x) and was expensive. Epis are fantastic, you can go at whatever pace you want (lower legs fine, thighs HURT I still shave thighs in summer, not everyone removes hair above knee tho), bikini line fine. Most come with different heads for legs or bikini line, and different speeds.
I get a funny patch of ingrown hairs where I cross my legs (Bad habit) all I do is just shave that likl patch for a month then they disappear and I go back to epilating it,
I find results better than shaving (no stubble!) and only do once every 2 weeks, altho since I am preggy my hairs have been growing like crazy so doing it weekly now!!! Argh!!!!
Definitely try one, Braun are great, but I hear the Philips brand is good too, just make sure you get the attachments, and my one has a light which is real handy too,
I find hair removal creams pretty useless, and stinky!
