Topic: IRD refunds Posted: 04 August 2010 at 9:35am |
Has anyone got their WFF refund yet? I've usually got mine by July 20, but still nothing this year and am waiting for it so I can pay a big bill. It's been transferred over to my income tax, but they are taking their time working that out. Shouldn't be hard since my income for the year was one $185 pay that was just my final pay when I told work I wasn't coming back yet after all!

Well I did my tax return and found out I owed $70, got sent the invoice in 2 days. Worked out on line that DH is owed nearly $1k, requested the personal tax summary and over a month later am still waiting. Funny how when you owe them they can get on to it pretty damn quickly but when they owe you it is a whole different story!

We got ours nearly a month ago. I went online and had to confirm some information, then my PTS was available the next day and once I confirmed it, it was in the bank in about 4 working days. Do you have the new online services section, where you have a "My Income" part? That's where mine was waiting for me...

Mine was all of $65 and I got it straight away, maybe cause the amount was so low they were able to process it pretty quickly.
Larger amounts guess may take a bit of extra time.

Not necessarily C&J - ours was pretty substantial (around $3k). Who has any idea how they work out these things!!

I got mine recently.
It really pays to ring them up if they are taking awhile. Last year they managed to drag out refunding me for 4 months, apparently they kept getting processing errors when trying to send out/calculate my PTS. I ended up having to speak to a manager as it was getting ridiculous
This year they had a similiar problem, and when I rung to ask about my refund they fixed the issue on the phone and I got my refund 4 days later.

Definitely ring them, for the last 3 years running mine was always delayed, and every year i rang they told me they were waiting for my 'partner' to file HIS income tax return... they were referring to my ex husband who i havent lived with since early 2005! Had to do that for 3 years, and this year I signed up to do it all online (and had a new partner to add family income details, so that seems to have sorted out this income tax return for my ex-hubby business!), I confirmed details and had the money within a 4 day period. If you are getting more than $200 then it wont get transferred until you confirm the amount.

I dont get WFF but my income tax needed to be verified online and then it was in my account within 4 days... if you are not set up with the online account, I would do it.. it only takes a few minutes and then you can access everything right there!

We don't have proper internet access but still got ours about a fortnight ago- DH got his $400 banked within an hour of him confirming! Mine took 2-3days & was also a significant amount, I rung info express & spoke to the animated thingee til it said it would "re-issue" my pts, ie they'd already processed it. But going by friend's experiences it definitely pays to ring. The media thing from IRD said if you weren't sorted by the end of July to ring them.

Yeah I've got the online services hooked up, that's how I know the WFF has been transferred to my income tax. It will be about $3k, and my income tax assessment won't make any difference to that amount. It's been saying it's currently being processed since sometime in June!
Will try to ring them today I think.

Good luck, they suck to get thru to but sounds exactly what you need to do. Do they have a current bank acc no. for you?

It sure was hard to get through to them on the phone, ringing the number for income tax kept saying couldn't connect due to overloading so eventually tried the wff number instead and got through that way. They had all the info just sitting there and she said that my account had gone into 'review mode', which she was able to get it out of and confirm my tax summary with me then and there! So should have the money by Tuesday. Am wondering how long they were going to leave it in review mode if I hadn't contacted them!
Thanks for all the advice, it sure pays to contact them!

If only I could remember the login details I set DH up with. Might have to get him to ring them.
