I've kept most of Daniels stuff so don't need furniture type stuff. We kept his wraps and blankets and bedding but I know we have also just got rid of things since he was little and I don't really remember what we have got rid of..

Like a dummy, we have a NUK one just in case but I only remembered about that after seeing it mentioned on here..

What were the little things you had to go buy for #2?

Oh yeah... that's a good point!

I'm currently searching for replacement valves for my breast pump - they seem to be difficult to come by these days for some reason although I used to be able to get them from the local pharmacy.

I'll let you know in a week or two

Weegee don't know what brand you have but I got all my pump valves from baby factory.

Sorry no help with number two baby as I'm still on just one baby.

Mostly for us it was just clothes. We had all the furniture, sheets, monitor, breast pump, high chair & rocker.

I did buy a wrap & I forgo'd the capsule in favour of my carseat which went new born up. I also didn't bother buying disposables as I knew I was going to do cloth.

I got some Merino for wraps & that's really about it. I thought I'd just get stuff as I came to find I needed it, it dummy.

I'm foregoing the capsule this time too, too heavy and annoying and I don't like letting babies sleep in them.

I'm not really buying anything but I do need to figure out how much to budget. Seems like it won't be much at all.

the moby wrap was the big thing for me- I couldn't get by without it now.

I had to get boy clothes, extra cot sheets (most of ours were pink) and I got a couple of extra wraps.

So far I have bought a Moby, double pram and a couple of new outfits for early on coz I feel like C wore his NB stuff forEVER and also feel stink for the new baby having all handmedowns

Never thought about buying new parts for my breastpump, should have a look now and see what I need!

I am still considering using cloth so will buy those too if I decide to go down that road.

Can't think of anything else though so will be watching this thread!

There were just things that we didnt have last time that we decided to use this time- a monitor, and an electric breast pump. We borrowed a basinette and a change table last time, so we bought them this time.
We got some unisex clothes and blankets cos we didnt find out what we were having this time, and we only had pink everything last time!
Bibs.
A wrap for baby wearing, sold our stupid front pack that i hardly ever used with Isla. I just got 3 1/2 metres of t-shirt type cotton material, cut it into strips 50cm wide, and I got 3 awesome wraps for $40!

If you're going to bottle feed then you'll need all new teats as they deteriorate over time.

We got rid of our swing so would buy another one of those when the time comes.

I sold our bassinette and wouldn't use one next time, just straight into the cot.

Also our miracle blanket swaddling wrap was totally stuffed so I threw it out and would have to buy another one of those. Daniel's sleeping bags are pretty well used too so I'd buy new ones of those too in each tog.

Otherwise everything else: bouncer, playmat, monitor, sheets, blankets, steriliser should be able to be used again.

So far I have got a few extra singlets and nighties, a couple of light weight wraps and a newborn insert and toddler seat for the buggy. Oh, and some newborn nappies, and will get some new teats for bottles and a dummy. And I really really want some Mustela bath stuff coz I love the way it smells. Silly

Not a reality for us just yet but the only things I think about needing to get is a good wrap / sling as sold the front pack after DS grew out of it, promising myself an Ergo for second baby. Will proably want some pink things if we had a girl and maybe the odd new outfit for a little boy but TBH there are so many clothes from DS that I swear look almost new.

I think I might just use all the blue sheets / blankets / sleeping bags again. But how I feel in reality might be different LOL

Will need to by small cloth nappies as only switched to cloth at 6mths... I covet squishy soft itti bitti's in a rainbow of colours even tho I've never even held a real one in my hands!!!

Wont buy another bassinette, will put baby in the carrycot for the pram for 4 - 8 weeks and then probably into cot, glad we have the safety sleep to use.

our bassinette stays in the family (my grandma bought it when I was a baby) cos it has sentimental value
But since there was such a big gap with C and Ty , I did have to get clothes , a buggy , a carseat , a change table , a cot , etc etc, but we found some good bargains on TM
THIS time, I don't have to buy anything , the baby can be in this bassinette for up to 4 months , cos its more like a cradle so by the time he/she needs the cot , Ty will be ready for a bed .
It will just be the usual bits and pieces like dummies, bottles, etc etc that we will need to get .Maybe clothes as well, depending what baby is

The only things I kept from DD were her portacot and my breastpump.

We've bought a chest of drawers which we'll use as a changing table, a bath seat, bedding for the portacot and we'll but a new mattress for the portacot.

We've borrowed or been given a bassinet, blankets, baby clothes, a baby monitor and a stroller.

I still want a wrap, a sling/babycarrier, a nursing pillow and I'd love an itzbeen

Cloth nappies!! I sold all the small ones I had cause they were crap. So had to satrt again with those.
Bought a moses basket cause R was still in the cot. Not much clothes cause I thought she was a boy.
MIL bought me a moby cause I HAD to have one. I've used it like 5 times.

Most of my buys were afterwards. Clothes for her and Bra's for me. LOL

Ummm... what's an itzbeen?

Yay thanks for all the tips, all the lovely been-there parents! I'm getting ready for #2 now as well (this weekend it's 24 weeks - 'viable' magical age!) and we haven't got much yet, particularly as we're keeping the gender a surprise so I've bought a few new neutral clothes...

I had a hug-a-bub for #1 but it's a hassle to put on sometimes so I was considering getting / making a Dulce/Dolce & Zoet type sling for ease, even though it's not as ideal as hug-a-bub/Moby for supporting the spine...

I've also treated myself to a few new bras as I was still breastfeeding when I became pregnant - hooray for Womama sales!

Agree with you wytchocs, we're putting a bit of money aside to buy things when we need them, rather than just-in-case!

So far I have just got a dbl buggy (13months apart) and a couple NB onsies as its nice to have some cute new things even though they are same sex.

I am going to get a moby to use round the house, as I worry number 2 wont settle well in her bed and I want to be semi- mobile for number one.

Flannels and bibs....as somehow our pretty coloured ones and mostly stained and look really gross.

And more storage!
