QuoteReplyTopic: Overnight nanny rates Posted: 03 July 2010 at 12:49pm
Does anyone know roughly the average going rate for a nanny to stay overnight?.
We are in the process of organising a nanny and one of the things we will require is for her to stay with DS 2 while I go into hospital to have #2.
We have an hourly rate sorted for when she's here during the day but am wondering if we should pay her a lump sump for every 24hrs while I'm in hospital or which way to do it.
Anyone done the same thing or have any ideas?
Thanks ladies.
My SIL was talking to her regular babysitter about this last week when I was there. They're in Aus so maybe the hourly rates are different but the principle is the same -
she charges her hourly rate till 7pm (or whenever the kids go to bed) and then $100 for the overnight stay and then the hourly rate kicks in again when the kids wake up.
I worked as a nanny inWelly over 5 years ago and would have charged the same way but only $50 for the overnight. I have no idea of hourly rates for babysitting in nz these days but I imagine they vary a lot depending on who's doing the sitting??
I used to look after a boy overnight, I'm not a nanny.
Got paid an hourly rate until his bedtime then $40 for the night and hourly rate again when we got up.
Would've expected a bit more if I was waking through the night but he slept through.
