i read some stuff online and laughed A LOT. we decided we wanted a new car, and had no money so were desparate, so we did it, while laughing and giggling to ourselves. three months later our car blew up - completely crapped itself in the middle of the itnersetcion and so we were forced to get a crappy loan and buy a new one (which i love - and was the car we were imagining when "secreting"), so in that respect it worked. ....now we are broke though from the car repayments

I've never read it fully myself, only bits and bobs. Tried watching the movie/doco on it once. It's interesting stuff, but interesting to me in the same way the Egyptians are interesting to me. It's not a philosophy of life I'd follow, but then I don't follow any philosophy of life cause life's too short to worry about following philosophies.
Well thats my philosophy anyway

BTW; I do follow A philosophy but it's in regards to child rearing, not LIFE, although child rearing is my life.

I dont think there is any harm in the whole thinking positively but i have found people that have read it shove the postive thing down your throat

like saying you have to think positvely you will win lotto or you wont win......and those people dont let you have one negative thought.........gets really annoying when you just wanna have a pity party for one and they be all positive.........sometimes you just wanna have a moan and not be told to think positive

read it a few years ago, use it all the time, works for us, only thing is, most people miss the point entirely, just imagining doesn't do a lot you have to put some action behind it!

one thing that always works, we run our own business and when it get quiet my partner puts on his hat which we pinned a load of photocopied money too and the phone starts to ring with new work!

i think it's also about choosing to be happy, so if you wake up in a say a bad mood or feel down you can choose to spend the rest of the day feeling that way or you can choose to have a good day, of course sh*tty things happen and that's not always that easy.

a better interpretation of the secret is by esther and jerry hicks, just google. some people might find it a bit "out there".

i'm working on a new kitchen at the moment LOL!

I haven't read the book but I absolutely positively believe in positive thinking.

Ive come across in time and time again when helping people with their weight loss goals (from when I worked as a pt) .. you have to believe you can do it .. the mind is such a powerful tool!

Obviously you have to do the work that will enable you to lose weight, but you have to believe it to achieve it, if you don't believe you can do it .. you will subconsciously put up hurdles to stop you from getting there.
Mummy to Issy (3) and Elias (18 months)

I did it .. 41 kgs gone! From flab to fab in under a year LFs weight blog
