That when you are trying to get pg, it seems like EVERYONE you know is announcing they are expecting!!!! grrr. I have one sister 6 mths pg, 2 SIL's who have just had babies and 3 good friends all pg and this weekend we just got news from my husbands friends that they are expecting! "sigh"

I feel like I am really beging to slip down the crazy slop! I had to really convince myself not to test AFTER my AF because it actually was AF and not some freaky implantation bleeding that I was trying to convince myself it was!

I would be nice to go back to those days were moucus (sp?) wasn't a word that was in your everyday thoughts ...if you know what I mean

End of rant!!!

You mean struggles they had? Hmmm I know what you mean. One of the people I mentioned suffered anorexia as a teen and has had huge problems getting pg. Don't get me wrong...I am happy for them all, its just that I am pretty sure there werent' that many babies or pg woman when we werent trying

It really is hard JD, and you're not alone in the way you feel

Have you noticed too that if you go out in public, there are pregnant women *everywhere* ?

How long have you been TTC JD? I'm sure you've told us, but at the moment all the newbies seem to be coming in, announcing they're pg within weeks and then they're out of here again! It's a bit hard ot keep track ...

It's hard too when everyone wants to give you advice, or put their two cents in, and mostly people don't have a clue about TTC for any length of time.

Yer the problems they faced during pregnancy and also getting pregnant.

Ginger anorexia can stuff the body so badly some women who have had it have major issues getting pregnant. Its sad that the women who can overcome that massive disease cant have kids it really saddens me!!

I went off the pill July 06. We have been casually ttc since then. Although its not that many cyles that we have been trying (compared to others), they seem to take ages for the next one to come around. That the mo I am on CD10 which leave another couple of weeks before I will know anything....and then it all begins again. I know you know what i mean.
I think that my body has just gone back to normal now. I had quite a few short cycles and just general weirdness going on with my body....but I think I am good to go now. hehe.
We haven't told anyone about ttc as the "when are you going to have kids" questions is already doing my head in.
Anorexia, as you probably know, is starving your body...which means that you are putting some of your vital organs in danger of shutting down. Alot of anorexics will stop having periods which of course shows that they are also effecting their reproductive organs. This can cause damage that is irripairable (sp)! I know for a while they wondered if they would be able to conceive at all, so praise God they now have two beautiful children.

Ahhh ...erm ...

Ahem.

Me and anorexia/bulimia go way back (though we have had a good working relationship for a few years now - it leaves me alone, so I don't have to kick its ass! ) ...so I was curious if there were particular problems they faced.

If you have a look at the stats I posted the other day, a reasonable length of time for TTC and falling pregnant is actually about 9 months. It's probably a bit harder for you too at the moment if you've been following the TTC threads recently as there have been a lot of newbies coming in and then falling pregnant straight away very good for them, but it leaves us long termers reeling a bit!

It can definitely take a good wee while for your body to settle down after coming off the pill. Are you charting? It's probably a good idea, if you're not, to start tracking your cycles that way - it helps you pin point ovulation as well as increasing knowledge of what your body is up to (sorry if I'm preaching to the converted...)

Im pleased to hear you have overcome anorexia/bulimia! What an awesome achievement!!!
Im not sure of the exact details of the issues, but I do know that she suffered quite severely and was admitted for treatment a few times.

Yeah I read the posts most days and have seent he newbies falling pg quickly. Good for them (I mean that in a nice way).

I really don't want to chart yet as I really think our time is comming...soon!

As far as I know there are no extra issues for us to deal with so I will give it a bit longer before I chart or anything like that. I know heaps of you have had great success with it, but I am still hanging onto the hopes that the baby will be the result of love making rather than love making for the result of a baby. I really don't mean this to offend anyone.....its just one of those romantic ideals I have in my head....if that makes sense at all. It has only been 6 months for me, so you might hear a completely different tune coming from me in a few months time if we still have no luck

I totally get what you mean and i posted a very similar thread last year sometime because everywhere i turned there were pregnant people!! I was extremely upset when right at the peak of TTC (had been over a year of trying at that point) and my SIL come to me in tears because she had just found out that she was 4 months pregnant!! and she would blabber on about how unwanted that baby was and how it was an accident just like the other 2!! which made me even more angry that she could be so careless 3 times!!! (she didnt know that we were trying though). SIL managed to have 2 kids in the time it took us to even get pregnant with this bubs!!
Even now my heart drops for a minute everytime i see a new pregnant person or hear of a birth because it wont seem real or over and done with until i have bubs.

I havnt had to deal with anorexia or the likes od but I read an artical the other day about fertility after anorexia and apparently it is hard to get pregnant after the fact if your cycles had stopped because sometimes your body goes into menopause from being stopped for so long and if your cycles do come back then there could be irripairable damage to your reproductive organs.

That's a real shame baysmum, and you're right - you'd think they'd have worked out how to avoid a pregnancy once they had two unplanned pregnancies! (It's not *that* dramatic for boys to get the snip!)

I'm so lucky that I didn't do damage to myself in that area ...my periods never stopped, and I ovulate every month, and have good hormone levels etc. Even with the endo.

I'm glad that your wait is over baysmum

Hehe ginger even a condom or the pill wouldnt have killed them to try!! it would have certainly been alot cheaper to take those measures rather than what they are paying to have 3 kids under the age of 3 now!! i think that may just be my anger for SILs stupidity and my wait to get pregnant thats talking and i know of others that have had more than 1 accident and it hasnt bugged me as much as her!!
Im glad all is well with you after your anorexia im sure that little bubs will pop up soon too
I beleive in timing too because we were going through alot of things while TTC (illnesses, job issues, money issues, small house issues and some relationship issues) and i was always being told the time wasnt right then after we had paid off all dept, moved house, found new job, moved town (yip pretty big changes!!) and sorted our relationship out then bang it happened. I know that is probably no comfort to anyone, it was confort to me but certain other comments would make me mad!! so i hope i didnt just offend anyone with that comment.

No, I get you baysmum Not offence taken from this direction

Hehe ...funny story talking about condoms ...

My boss was telling me the other day that ages ago, the company I worked for was part of a bigger company, and one of the things that they used to make was condoms. Apparently they had a board in the office/warehouse entranceway with a display of all the condoms (in their foil packets). Anyway! The story is (and I believe him because it is totally believable, though a bit of a shocker) that every Monday the office staff would come in and there would be condoms missing off the display board, and they'd have to replace them.

Well! One night they caught the guy ...it was one of the factory guys and he was nicking the condoms to use over the weekend. The funny part of the story...? Well. Guess how the condoms were stuck to the display board? You got it! They stuck a pin stright through the middle of them!!

Imagine how many times that twit has reproduced!!

Hope that gave everyone a giggle

And thanks Jess re the anorexia ...it was a pig of a fight, but I got there!

And I heard that quote on Kitchen Confidential the other night and I felt soooo much better stopping at my fav cafe to get a coffee and yummy bicky at 7.30am the next morning! And of course, because I'm tough, I'd scarfed the bicky before I got to work!

I can't even be bothered being shocked at myself

*giggle giggle* I guess it's true that men really are the dumber sex then

I can relate to what you're saying JD, we tried for 11 months to get preg with our angel baby (which was a shock given that Maya was a big unplanned surprise), then lost the baby and the whole time I felt jealous when I saw other people get their BFP's - some of the ladies on a TTC board I was on had conceived, and had their babies by the time we conceieved our angel. Then I miscarried and was devastated and thinking it would take as long again, and that maybe the reason it took so long and the reason I miscarried were the same problem (TTC is a great way to mess with the mind!)

Obviously it didn't take that long again tho, and I have been blessed with two more beautiful girls, but I still pop in to keep an eye on these TTC girls (keep them in line and all) waiting for the BFP announcements!
