I seriously can't believe it......keep checking the BFP to see if the + has dis-appeared yet and its all a big joke!!!
Definately trying to keep a cool head but find my mind racing away on me!!! Can't wait to get to the doctor for a blood test to confirm. I know the POAS is 99% correct, just really want the doctor to confirm. Is that silly???
I'm really nervous that its finally happening but super excited at the same time - hormones are in overdrive!!!
Any advice on the next few days ahead of me from those that are already mums???

Wow Salifer, that is awesome news!! Congrats!
My only advice would be to start choosing a midwife asap. I booked mine at 4 weeks and she was already filling up for June. SO if you know who you want, or if you live in an area where popular ones fill up fast, get onto that.
Also, try to get into good sleeping patterns now, because very soon you will feel so insanely tired that you need all your reserves!

Thanks very much, still on a high, checked temp this morning ....guess its hard to break a 2 year habit!!!
Hoping I can get a blood test and results all in one day today. I'm dying to tell my mum the good news, she's going to be OVER THE MOON!!!
Thanks for the tip on a mid-wife, have absolutely no idea where to start on that one....but will get researching.

Don't know where you are Salifer, but your doctor should give you a list of all the midwifes in your area and then there is plenty in the yellow pages...if you look up midwifes...and there is a website as well...i just cant remember the url but someone else here will know

if you go to the mama maternity site, they will give you a lost of midwives to contact. You can also get antenatal classes through them (we have gone through them).
I think it is mamamaternity.co.nz? But a google would sort it!

That is awesome news Salifer, take it easy over the next couple of months especially when you feel fatigued or nauseous. It's all normal, it's just because your body is now taking care of two of you All the best!

Congrats on the BFP You must be rapt!
Stop temping! I took mine for a month after my BFP and every time it went down a bit or didn't go up for a few days it did my head in and caused me heaps of needless worry- honestly, put the thermometer down

Thanks Jennz for the advice, I agree - no need to continue temping these days. What a nice feeling to file the thermometer away in the medicine cabinet!!!
Went to doctor for blood test but did a urine test with the nurse instead.....and of course it was another BFP. So that was nice to officially get the news from someone in the profession.
Have an appointment with the GP tomorrow for blood test form (which I have to take to the diagnostic testing place) and await the results.
The nurse gave me a list of mid-wives and kindly offered to cross a few off the list she didn't recommend!!! So hard to know where to start with the list .......not having a clue who's got a good reputation in this twon. Guess its a process of elimination/recommendations. Had no idea they book up so fast so thanks for the tip to get onto booking someone IMMEDIATELY!!! On my To-Do list for this week.

Whereabouts are you Salifer? You could probably list a few on here and see if anyone has them as their midwife and get reccomendations that way. I chose my MW from a list of another forum, one name kept coming up with positive comments so I went with her.
