Topic: The ZUMBA thread... Posted: 10 June 2010 at 3:17am |
I thought I would start a thread for Zumba enthusiasts!
Surely there are a few of us around, I have only just started in the past week or so casually (and from the comfort of my own home) - but once I get myself sorted I want to be doing it twice daily.
I'm really enjoying it thus far, and am already noticing a boost in energy and feeling happier etc. Can't wait for the results to start showing.
So who else is a Zumba Addict? How long have you been doing it for, how are you getting on - any success stories??
Please do share

Not currently Zumba-ing due to the size of my belly . But I love it , as does DD - she loves to have a boogy! The best thing I found about it (other than realising one day I could do the whole thing without huffing and puffing!) was the huge improvement it made to my back which had ongoing problems from SPD, was like magic!!

oo I'll be keeping an eye on this thread! I like the look of it, but don't know anyone who is actually doing it or how well it actually works. Would love to hear how people are finding it

I haven't done it yet but have soooooo many friends who do it regularly, either at the gym or at home. They all swear by it. I have a friend who's wee girl is 1yr old and she had really struggle to get her waist back into shape after have a C-Sec but she has lost inches since doing Zumba so I'm guna give it a try soon too

I have the dvds and did classes for about 2 months..before it was getting too expensive for me. When I was solely doing zumba I lost 10 kilos. I love zumba but haven't done it in months...but that's purely due to motivation. Am hoping to attend some classes at the gym during my holiday period...now I'm back on the exercise wagon.

I have the dvd's - just need to use them! I find it hard to do it with the kids around. Sometimes I finish work early and do a quick zumba before I pick them up, but I lose motivation for it by the time they have gone to bed and I can't seem to get up earlier than them in the mornings...
I do love it though!

Umm..how much room do you need for it? I think I would quite enjoy it but don't have the biggest space to do it in...and there are no classes here either so have to do it at home.

You don't need too much room at all TaliP. We have a tiny little lounge, and if I push the coffee table to one side I have plenty of room, I need more space when I do pilates!
Oh and yip the curtains were certainly closed while I did it!

I've been going to a class - mostly to support the instructor who is a friend of a friend.
I'm finding it ok - a bit low intensity even though I'm not very fit atm. It's good if I can actually do the moves, but it's harder to have a good workout when the moves are too tricky.
I'll finish up my 10 trip card, but I don't think I'll continue with it after that. On the other hand, it's quite social.
