Topic: Bleeding-how long? Posted: 07 May 2010 at 11:29am |
How long is the bleeding supposed to last?
I had my baby 2 weeks age. The bleeding was slowing down completely & was light pink or brown, but then since yesterday it's picked up again & is bright red. Is that normal? This morning it seems quite heavy again.

Mine completely stopped on 2 occasions for 1-2 days. But was not completely over until maybe 5.5weeks. If i remember rightly, i went through the brown and back to red as well.

I had PPB for 3 weeks and it kinda slowed about the 2 week mark too but seemed to come back. I think PPB is normal for up to 6 weeks? If you're worried see your Dr or MW.

Normal for 6 weeks. Did you have a more active day yesterday or pee less? Can mean you bleed more.

I bled for about 3 weeks, but the last 2 were light brown in colour, unfortunately AF has come back for the last 2 weeks (9 weeks post) but then again I had depo.
Anyway the bleeding varies in everyone but mine lasted 3 weeks. My mum bled for 6 weeks post...

Thanks for the responses guys. Sounds like it's probably quite normal. MW coming on monday so I'll check then (& if it gets very heavy I'll ring her sooner)

I was just over 6 weeks before it stopped completely. It'd slow down and almost disappear then I'd get active and it'd start up again.

Yeah, mine continued for 7/8 weeks. Slowed down and then picked up around six weeks. The Dr said it was AF returning but I haven't had anything since then and are still BF.
If it gets really heavy, then I would call your MW for advice. Hope it stops soon for you xx
