    Posted: 10 April 2012 at 8:36am
Hi everyone,
I'm a working mum of 2 and am also trying to complete a masters in psychology (in precious nap times and after they finally go to sleep each night!!!) through Massey Uni. For my thesis I am looking at whether there is a link between personal strengths (ie hope, optimism, resilience and self efficacy) and work family confict (how engaged or how stressed you are in your job) in working parents after they return from parental leave.
If you are a working parent and have taken any parental leave over the past five years I would really appreciate your help with my study. All you need to do is fill in a quick and anonymous survey by clicking this link: https://qasiasingleuser.asia.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_8ewsAUZkH3mBbtG
In addition, if you can forward this link to anyone else you know who may be able to help that would be great! The more people who fill in my survey, the better picture we can get of what its like for working parents at the moment.
Please let me know if you have any questions about the research or if you would like more info.
Thanks HEAPS! Katherine

I did the survey. it sounds interesting.
A couple of things -
can you make the link in your post an actual link?
Question 21) I 'needed' to return to work - are you defining this as financial need? I needed to for sanity. does that count?
46) typo?
choice between 'career' and 'work/life balance' in the final question - how are these different?

Your survey doesn't accommodate people who work from home very well.
Also the 'ticker' doesn't align with how far through you are - it was showing about half and I was thinking man, this is long, then the next page was the demographic info and I was finished.

Others - this survey isn't as long as it looks. Give it a go.

Hi there Lisame,
Thanks for the feedback! I have amended the survey link to a hyperlink which should take you directly to the survey below now (I hope!)
Survey Link

Question 21 was more aimed at the financial angle of 'needing' to return to work, opposed to the 'wanting' to return to work question (eg for sanity), however all questions are completely dependent on how you want to interpret them.

Good point regarding people who work from home. However I hope anyone working from a home setting will still be able to apply most questions to their own situation.

I'll let the Massey IT dept know about the typo and ticker issues :)

Thank you so much for taking the time to complete the survey - I really appreciate it!

Hi Kath, I'm not a mum yet so can't help sorry, but just noticed your study, I'm also doing postgrad psych through Massey but in my first year, you're a legend doing this with two kids though! All the best.
