Not at all if you enjoy babies and can cope with it, why not? I couldn't handle 3 under 3 which is why I'm not having another one yet, but I know a few people who did it and seemed to cope really well. It'll be great when they are big and all close in age.

AandCsMum that's what I'm worried about! I had a huge age gap (11 and 9 years) between my sisters and me and we are only just getting close now whereas I can already see the bond between my two and I would love all my children to have siblings close in age to play and fight with. Decisions decisions.

I think if you want that age gap and you think you can handle it then go for it :) You can never know how long it will take to get UTD.

We wanted a close age gap so started trying when DS was 10mths, hes now 3yr 3months and there is no real reason why we cant get UTD.

Hey, Im going to b having a 18month age gap, i dont think i would cope with any smaller personally, we hadnt offically started trying yet but werent preventing either.

If you think u will cope fine then go for it, otherwise wait another month or two and then start trying, you never know how long it will take

I dont think I would cope physically with pregnancy with a young baby that needs caryying everywhere etc, but if u think u can cope with that and 3 under 3 then go for it. We waited to ttc #3 until the gap would not be smaller than 24 months- #1 took 1 month to concieve and #2 took 2 months, so we expected to get preg almost straight away again,...but this one took 8 months and so we will have a bigger gap that planned.

I had a 21 month age gap and like to think i would have coped better if DS2 had not been such a screamer. As it was i did somehow survive despite no family support and a very unsettled baby. Can't say the first 6 months were very enjoyable and it made us decided to stop at 2 instead of go for 3 as plannned (the whole reason we had a short gap!).

I have other friends who have the 3 year age gap and their older one is off at kindy so they get time with the baby. That looks so much easier! I feel like i never had quality time with DS2 and look at him now and can't believe i had a 3mo baby at this same age.

I taught my DS1 how to climb into the carseat himself and changed highchair and bed etc to avoid lifting and increase his independence. I made lots of effort to keep going out to his playgroup etc as i didn't want his life to come to a screeching halt.

It was ok but tbh if i had to make the decision again i would time it for having a baby and a 3yo, but you will deal with whatever age gap you have really. You don't have a choice and different age gaps have different challenges. I had friends with similar age gaps who felt it was easy (easy 2nd baby, tricky first one). Maybe it's more about expectation.

Curleysue...we had unexplained infertility with #2 as well & ended up with a 5 year gap, which is still good.

Being on #3, this pregnancy has been a LOT harder on my body & I'm so much more tired. So carrying around a say 2 year old would have me on crutches, with DS being just 3, I can tell him Mummy can't lift him etc and he's happy with that. He's happy to walk, he can get in & out of the car himself & he can help carry/dress himself.

And as Crafty says...off to kindy so I get some time by myself & then I'll have time alone with the new one.

I have got a 14 month age gap between my 2 and boy is it hard work! but I feel blessed to have 2 babies If you think you can handle a small age gap and you feel ready for number 3 then I say go for it as you never know how long it will take to get UTD!

We have 20m between our girls and then 3yr 3/4 between youngest girl and baby boy. Its been lovely as DD1 at school and DD2 at 20hrs kindy, ive had time to rest when heavily prenant and nice one on one time with baby when he arrived and they are at school & kindy.

My friend has 4 under 5 and she is supermum

Our gap is big between 2 & 3 because we planned it that way, (ie I needed a break as had preg / bf / preg / bf continusously was on Pill then when we decided to get preg we conceived first month

Good luck with your decesion
