Topic: Grocery Shopping Online..... Posted: 11 May 2011 at 3:28pm |
Hey Ladies
Just wondering which is the best shopping centre to do it at, especially around dunedin.
I usually shop at countdown in dunedin but as we live a little way out of town i thought i'd give it a go. But i don't want someone to deliver it to me with my bread squished!
TIA

I LOVE online shopping.
I have never had any major problems. Occasionally I didn't like the qualty of the fruit delivered, or the accidentally substituted a product I didnt want - but all you do is call them and they take it off your bill and refund you.
I am with Countdown and I have not had any problems in ages. The delivery guys are always nice, and I get calls from the personal shopper if she cant find a product asking me what I want substituted for it.
I also spend a lot less because you can check you cart before you confirm - so a lot more items on special, and a lot less impulse buying.

Also if you order 1.1kgs of bananas you usually get 1.3 or more (because they dont remove single bananas from bunches to make the weight!). Same thing with mince. If you order 500gms or 600gms they have to give you that amount or more. So if they only have 600gm packs and you order 500gms you get extra for free.

I've done it a couple of times, I was pretty stoked when I last did it through countdown I ordered 500gms of a whole heap of different fruits, I got at least 700gms and even over a kg for a lot of them!

I love it. I started when I broke my ankle and haven't stopped. I find I come in on budget, I eat more healthily and it's convenient. I still get my meat and vege from the butcher/fruit shop and spend more there, but it all evens out. We eat more healthily for less $. All good :)

Love online shopping. lovelovelove it. I can't even describe how much I love it. We always do our regular shop this way. I like that I can check the cupboards for whether we need anything else and it's much easier to keep to a budget since you have a running total on the side of the screen. And they bring it to you so you don't have to go near a supermarket. Bliss.
I go to the Foodtown website, but that's the same as Countdown.

Type babycare into the discount coupon box (at checkout stage) and they will take $5.00 off your total order and give you 5% discount on anything you purchase in the baby aisle too.
