Topic: How long did did it take to get pregnant? Posted: 29 December 2010 at 1:48pm |
Hi ladies,
How long did it take for you to get pregnant with your second baby? And if you wanted a mid December baby, trying for one late February would be the go right?
Thanks

Hi Shan.
I got pregnant with Isabella the second month we were trying.
I got pregnant near the beginning of March and was due at the end of November. So if you want a mid December baby i guess you'd have to get pregnant near the end of March. But you'd count the 40 weeks from 2 weeks before that obviously, since you count 40 weeks from the first day of last period. Hope that all made sense. Haha.
Good luck.
Should have put second cycle instead of month actually.

Hi girls... Helpful thread because I was wondering the same thing... On a side note though, can you all tell me what your definitions of "trying" are? Just BD'ing once or twice around O time, or GOING for it for that entire week? Thanks :)

Er, it was my first known cycle but 2nd cycle of trying if that makes sense. I wasn't having AF since my first baby and was on the minipill, when i came off it I eventually got my first AF and then BAM UTD :D!
ETA I agree around the end of March would be December.

We got pregnant with this bubba on the 2nd cycle of trying (took 7months and one m/c with DD). First cycle trying this time we BD ALL the time lol, didn't work. The 2nd cycle we just did it when we felt like it, which was only the day before ov and the day before that, and got UTD that cycle. Go figure
Good luck, hope you get pregnant quickly! How long did it take you with your 1st?

It took 9 months of trying for no.2, I've only just got my BFP! We were trying for 5 months when DS was conceived.
I'm sure we'd still be trying too, if I hadn't figured out I had a short luteal phase, which I started taking B6 and Vitex for.
We were BDing mostly every other day around ovulation time.

We started trying when DS1 was 6mths. It took me 2 yrs to get pg again. I had a m/c at 13 weeks & gave up on have another baby. I fell pg 3mths later & was not trying. I fell pg with DS3 while BF DS2 at 7mths, was not tiring.
We have been trying for 4yrs to complete our family.

First one, got pregnant first cycle trying. Second, same again. I think DF and I are just weird and rabbit-fertile or something. Probably helped that we BDed like rabbits lol.

I think it helps to keep in mind that you only have limited control over these things. While you can try to have a baby at a certain time of year and it might work out, chances are it could be quicker or take longer than you expect.
We ttc#1 for almost 2 1/2 years and while it never took me more than 6 months to get pregnant, I miscarried four times. That is a pretty unusual thing to happen but I guess my point is stuff can happen.
Good luck with your ttc, hope it is a quick and joyful journey for you.

DD was a surprise, result of NFP and a freakishly short cycle! This time got pregnant first shot, confirmed IUD out via scan (it fell out) and +HPT 3 weeks later.
