    Posted: 28 May 2010 at 6:52pm

Every year we like to do a family outing on Ellas birthday. For the past 2 years we have gone to the Zoo, which she has loved. But this year would like to come up with something different (she was at the zoo at couple of months ago). It has to be something that we can bring Tom along to as well.

We thought of Butterfly Creek, but she has been there quite a bit so its not really that special anymore. I would like to take her to snowplanet, but her birthday falls on a weekend and they only have the kids area set up during the weekday. I don't think she would be that interested in Kelly Taltons (plus its quite overpriced for what it is).

Has anyone got any other ideas????

TIA

Caleb likes MOTAT and the Museum, although MOTAT tends to be a bit more boy orientated. On Mothers Day we went to Ambury Farm Park then the chocolate cafe at Sylvia Park for a chocolate fondue which both the kids loved. Chipmunks and Lollipops playland are also fun for any age, although not really an outing as they tend to go off and play while you watch.

Another option, which I haven't tried yet, is to take a train into town then the ferry over to Devonport stopping for a few snacks and meals along the way. The train station is right opposite the ferry terminal and adjacent to Westfield Shopping Centre which has McDonalds, Burger King, sushi etc.

Either Lollipops or Chipmuncks is good. They have a room for the party and the kids get to play on all the stuff. No hassles with mess at home etc. All contained in one area.

thanks for the ideas. DH tends to take her to chipmunks quite a bit, so its not really that special for her and she has been a bit unsettled the past couple of weeks because of Tom's arrival so I wanted to do something special for her.

Might look into Ambury farm park as we haven't been there before. Chocolate fondue sounds yum through......hmmmm might make that for her at home on her birthday.

Last night DH suggested rainbows end, but I think she is probably still a bit younger for that as I can imagine she wouldn't be that keen to go on some of the rides for the little kids by herself.

The first time we went to Ambury farm we thought it was boring, but then discovered the walks they have & the kids love doing those, but not much fun with a new baby & it does get really cold there.

We mostly do the zoo or Lollipops or sky city.

Silvia park has a place upstairs where you an make you own teddy bear.
