Also my breast milk has just came in and im not breastfeeding or did i express the colostrum when he was first born, my boobs are so sore and im wondering if anyone can tell me how long it takes for the milk to dry up naturally ? My midwife told me not to touch them at all as it will make more milk.

Ask your MW for stronger pain killers if its bad. And even get her to check it to make sure you haven't popped a stitch as that can make it hurt more.
Theres a product by naturopharm called milk stop that you could take to try and help with the milk situation.

I found witch hazel great for down below. I'd just tip a bit on a pad before I put it on. It's soothing and has antiseptic qualities.

Day 5-7 post episiotomy were the worst for me - everything was agony and I just cried and cried. Panadol and Nurofen, sitting on a cushion, lying down as much as possible. Get checked to make sure it's not infected. It will get better in a day or two, but I feel for you - it's agony while it hurts.

cant help with the cut down there but for milk i used cabbage leaves (straight from the fridge) for easing the pain and they help to dry you up.
Just pop them in your bra (not the most comfortable at first) and wait until they have warmed up then change them
My MW told me to wait until i smelt cabbage but you can tell when they have done their thing

I so feel for you!! I think it was about days 5-7 that were worst for my tear. The only thing that helped was baths for me. When it was at its worse on those days I would have about 5 baths. I used Voltaren for pain, but if you are not BF'ing you could probably have all sorts of wonderful strong drugs ...butI dont think it would helop with the itchy feeling as I think that just means it is healing.

You can also use dried sage to help with the milk supply so I found out on Kellymom website. 1/4 teaspoon 1-3 times a day, you can mix it with juice or I just swallow it with water.

Baths with salt and tea tree oil were great for me, I had 2 a day for about 5 days. To be honest the cut healed in less than a week, and that was with a popped stitch! the tear took about a month to heal properly.

I would shower after every feed, and remove the nozzle to get down below. I was offered voltaren in hospital, but just ended up taking panadol. Make sure your not doing too much, I overdid it and managed to pop 2 stitches and Im still paying for it.

Also get some Ural or Citravescent sachets to take, makes your pee less acidic so it doesnt hurt so much when you go.
I got a squirty bottle and put some salty water in it and used it to rinse each time I went to the loo - kept it clean and cut down on the stinging.

Drink lots of water as well, my mw told me to do that to stop the stinging. I found panadol didn't work either, ask if you can take voltaren.
Can't help with drying up your milk though...

Oh and also get your mw to take a look down there to see how everything is healing, I ended up with some stitches undissolved at my 6wk check but scar tissue had grown over so somethings were a little painful to attempt IYGWIM.

Put some lavender essential oil in the bath. Its great for healing and has antiseptic properties!
Can't help on the milk front though sorry! I would have thought your Dr or MW would be able to prescribe something?

Ahhh don't listen to your midwife in regards to not touching your breasts because they will make more milk! She is essentially right, but if you just hand express a tiny amount in the shower each night, enough to make you comfortable, then your milk will dry up quite easily. A little bit of hand expressing won't increase your milk supply like a pump or a baby will. Just do it to ease the pressure.
If your breasts continue to be engorged and nothing is happening, you run the risk of getting mastitis which isn't pleasant.

I used that naturopharm product Hypercal, I would dab it on each time I went to the bathroom after I rinsed with warm salty water and definately take panadol (or any other drugs you can). It was about a week - 10 days before it started feeling more tolerable for me. And definately make sure you take it easy (as much as you can with a newborn), I found on days I did too much I'd bleed more and be in more pain.
Good luck, it will get more comfortable and be a distant memory, trust me
